The first time I went in, a few months ago, I noticed that it was a little smelly and that nobody wanted to have anything to do with me, including the staff. I figured it was just an "off day," which everyone is entitled to, so I gave them another shot recently.

My second trip was much worse. It smells really bad in there. Terrible BO mixed with odorous food that has been dropped and not cleaned for a long time mixed with the proud "I'm a smoker" stink that was wafting from a few different players; I can't even imagine how horrible the stench will be in their shop during warm months. The atmosphere was vulgar and nobody seemed to mind. Everyone was divided into little cliques that didn't seem inviting. I didn't necessarily need more dice, but I wanted to at least try to support the LGS and their community. I tried again to get someone to help me at the counter, but the employee was too busy playing games as well.

Additionally, when someone pointed out who the owner was, I couldn't believe the way he was treating his customers/friends. He was aggressive, combative and antagonistic in a place where he should be encouraging, if nothing else, to the people that are earning him a living.

I tried to give them a second chance, but they've fully earned my dislike. There are two other gaming stores in Tyler: the one south of town doesn't support the game I play, but the staff seemed friendly enough. The one on the east side of town seems a perfect fit for me and my gaming needs: family appropriate, friendly encounters with painting customers and employees, lots of miniwargaming and a massive selection of GW related fare. I would recommend trying those two first to see if they'll meet your needs.

Maybe I've just hit them on two bad days, but honestly, the second one was bad enough that I won't try them again for at least a couple of...

This place is a must if you love board games or card games. The atmosphere is bright, happy, and cute. The employees are welcoming but don’t hover over you while you shop. They are very knowledgeable on everything in the store. They have this cute mystery wall of games at a discounted price with wrapping paper covering the outside and a description of the game that was handwritten by an employee (kind of like a mystery book in local bookstores). These are always fun for group dates or if you are having a friend gathering. When you first walk in there is a huge row of kawaii merchandise such as Pokémon mystery boxes and hand drawn stickers/art prints. They also offer red bean buns(my husbands favorite) and delicious candy. There are so many cute plushies that I have only seen sold there. For card game fans, they have literally every expansion ever for yugioh and magic. They carry new Pokémon card expansions, and Digimom packs. They also offer singles of Pokémon and Magic. They offer a lot of card game accessories such as card mats and a ton of dragonshield sleeves and card boxes. The prices I would say are average. It’s the same price you would find online, don’t go expecting any huge discounts. But the atmosphere and employees definitely make it a fun experience. This is definitely a more store setting than a hangout setting but board and bites next door is just a walk away if you want a fun place to play with your new games you...

This is usually a pretty neat place to go into however, the last time that I went I left feeling pretty disappointed. I had gone looking for an escape room game and while they didn’t have exactly what I wanted, there was something that was pretty close to it. An older gentleman helped me find what I was looking for.

However another board game (Betrayal) caught my eye and it was marked $45 which was about $20 less than I had seen online the day before, so it was very exciting to me and I grabbed it immediately. However upon reaching the register I was informed that that game was marked incorrectly and that it would be $75, a $30 markup from the price marked on the box.

Instead of offering me the price that was marked or some kind of discount for their mistake, they wanted me to pay full price, so I left without it. I am disappointed in the situation and how...

I wanted to give this place 5 stars because I consider myself a nerd at heart and I used to play magic the gathering when I was a kid. I came in and was greeted by a worker and I felt accepted and had a good conversation with the staff and they gave me great pointers and source material to practice. I used the restroom and I took pics to give them a great review and help. Yet they called the cops on me for wanting to give them a good review. Yes maybe just should of told them that I wanted to give them a Google review but I mean geez, I went over to McAlister's deli and the cops show up wondering why I was taking pics, what's crazy is they are on Facebook. You have pics of your ish there. I mean I know what it was but it's ok. Welcome to get world, where if you are not a certain person you are not welcome.

I absolutely love this place, but I am very disappointed with my last experience. They currently have boxes of individual Pokémon cards that they claim are all under $5. One of the cards I chose couldn’t be found on the TCG app, so the attendant asked her manager for a price. They claimed it would be $20. I still chose to purchase it, and when I got home, I looked up the price. The highest price I found that it was ever sold for was $8.99. Even then, TCG Republic has it listed at $3.50, so I am giving more credit than due. I honestly feel like I was ripped off and wish the situation had been handled better. If you aren’t sure of what the price is, take it out of the box. Or if you find out it’s more, honor the price you’ve told customers.

First and foremost Mark is the man! Made our experience excellent from the moment we walked in the door. We had just stopped in casually to look for a new board game and all I can say is WOW! Huge selection of board games with 100+ open to demo. Mark walked us through a few of his favorites and we actually played 4 new games. 5 hours later we left with 3 games and we will definitely be back!
