I had an experience where I felt that I was being discriminated against because I entered with my husband who is African American (I am Hispanic) it always happens where we go and we are used to it but we have been coming here long enough for some workers to be familiar with us and treat us decently . In this instance, me and my husband had been waiting a while to order our food and it was obvious we had been waiting as we are hard to miss. A man who is Hispanic minutes later began to wait as well. When the girl working was ready to take the next order , without glancing at me, she looked straight to the Hispanic man who came after us and said towards him "who's next?" . The man did not say anything back so I spoke up and said “im next”.The young woman gave me an ugly look and asked the man again if anyone had attended to him. At this point I said that we arrived before him. With another ugly look, the young woman began to take my order with a attitude towards us and started talking about us with the man and with other workers as if I did not understand Spanish. My hunger left at this point and I told them not to worry about serving us and we left. How sad that I thought they were used to seeing me and my husband. An interacial couple. Doubt I’ll...
Read moreClean, well stocked...think Monterey but smaller. Same meat selections, fresh chicharrón, a serious pastelería and panadería. When I walked on the door, there was a big display of golden pineapples that called out to me. Alas, I was there for some tacos. Which resulted in the following picture. I speak fluent Spanish, but there were women there working on their english. Speaking of those tacos, it wasn't possible to put any more meat in them. They even gave me a big fried jalapeno. It's an upscale Mexican store that is great. 5 stars💥BTW, that pineapple water had chunks of fruit in it. Very impressive 👍
Brookshires or Super One level of cleanness. Reminds me of a Mexican Brookshires, as a matter of fact. Spotless unisex bathroom.
I've been remiss in forgetting the wide fruit selection. Lots of ethnic vegtables as well. Tight well run operation. It's a popular store for a reason.😎
The pastelería or bakery looks great! All in all, this is a serious operation...
Read moreWent for the first time today to this store. Most of the produce was going bad and I didn't trust taking home a squishy avocado. On the bright side, I will say they were super friendly, helpful in finding items, and the employees were all very upbeat and were hard at work. The store was clean, I kept seeing them sweeping and wiping tables. Meat was pretty cheap compared to the other stores in the area. We live over an hour away and it was well worth the drive to check this place out. Bought some Barbacoa meat from their menu and it was good! Not a fan of the horchata, but it was pretty decent. Found some products their from central America that you don't usually find in this area which was a plus! I love the variety in stuff and their good prices! Most definitely will...
