American Inn — Hotel in Tyler

If you keep in mind that you're staying in the room for an extremely low rate, them you shouldn't be surprised by the neighborhood or its inhabitants. The room I was in could have used new caulking in the shower, there was a piece of drywall that was repaired but never covered over, the wifi was spotty and unreliable, and I didn't feel safe going outside at night. The only thing preventing somone from opening your window is a stick in the track, and the door lock is mounted to a very flimsy piece of particle wood a todler could break. However for the price I paid, these were all minor problems in my opinion. However the room was clean, there is plenty of parking for the number of rooms, and housekeeping came by every day to clean, change the towls and bedding. For starters I hate rooms with carpet I'm here on business so had first night paid for before arrival. When u walk in u can smell the mold. The table was not screwed on so it flipped over wen trying to set something on top. Fridge didn't work so food spoiled. There are no outlets only one wich already had the phone microwave fridge n tv plugged in n cable modem. When I attempted to shower to my surprise there's no mf hot water!! I attempted to complain n was informed that only hot water comes out from the sink! N sure enough hot water works from sink. They charge 65 it should be more like 35. The area is not good either n the front ppl don't even understand wat ure saying just repeat ok ok ok is...

It's your basic motor inn motel. Cars pull up to the motel room door. Someone left their car door open with their music blaring. They would not turn it down when we asked them to. The room was very basic. Good things: Cheap price for 2 nights, TV with cable, frig, microwave. Bad things: squeaky beds, no towel racks, no clothes hangers, only one trash can for the entire room. We had to ask for extra towels. If you don't care about the neighborhood or who might be pulling into the parking lot, it's ok for the low price.
