We’ve stayed at Moonglow Lodge several times and in all three properties. Unless we are Caddo camping, we never stay with anyone else. Beverly is a fantastic person and we love the quirky decor and lake access (and free canoes!). Each comfortable cabin features just everything you need for a relaxing get away (television, dvds, cds & player, kitchen supplies, coffee, games, reading material, etc.). It seems every detail has been perfectly thought out. Also save on boarding since all properties are dog friendly! Here are some things we’ve learned about each property: Moonbeam: Great for couples wanting a hot tub. Has a Murphy bed which is pretty unique. Cute garden patio, however no private fire pit. Moonshine Cabin: The most private of all the cabins, but furthest from the water. Has a fire pit, hammock, full kitchen, washer & dryer and two screened in porches. Moonglow: The largest of all the cabins. Has huge screened in porch with hammock , two toilets, full kitchen, and a wonderful fire pit area with the adorable blue, 1950’s style chairs. This is the closest cabin to the water and has several sleeping areas. The dock is quiet and feels private. We’ve caught huge catfish on the dock with worms. Grocery store, Johnson’s Ranch and all of Taylor Island is within reasonable walking distance. Every time we’re here I never want to leave. Truly my happy place.

We enjoyed two nights at the Caddo Cabin. The location is almost "spittin' distance" from the lake, and in a quiet part of Uncertain. The occasional car didn't bother the symphony of natural wildlife sounds. The cabin itself feels new, and despite being advertised as small is plenty for two people. The dual porch arrangement (screened and unscreened) worked well. The kitchenette is well stocked with pots and pans, and the joint living room is tastefully decorated. King bed was very comfortable, and A/C & heat worked just fine. Wifi worked fine for checking email but is just a DSL so don't plan on streaming videos (you are here to get away, after all!) Our only disappointment was that the lake was flooding due to the recent heavy rains, so we didn't have a chance to use the complimentary canoes. The owners were kind enough to email us a few days in advance with an opportunity to cancel our reservation, but I'm glad we declined! We really want to come back at some point in the future and get out on the water, and we will certainly stay here again.

We stayed a weekend at the Caddo Cabin, which accommodates 2-4 people. It was perfect; and I thought the price was extremely affordable! The screened in porch was my favorite, alongside the included access to the kayaks and canoes. I could spend all day on the water! The owners really make you feel at home, stocking whatever you may need, including ice, condiments, extra blankets, and books, to name a few. There’s a fire pit area and grill provided too. We had a curious/hungry lil raccoon come visit us by the fire one night! It’s a self-check-in and check-out cabin, which is super simple. Located a short walk from the water and by a not too busy road. The cell service is pretty spotty, but that’s the only “complaint” I can think of. The Caddo and Slough View cabins are relatively close to each other, but there’s enough privacy. I can see why they have many repeat visitors! Thanks for the memories!

My wife and I stayed here on Christmas Eve 2016 we were supposed to stay Christmas night as well, but I decided to go back home. There were a few things that I expected to be better that were in the owners control and a few things that were not in the owners control. As for the environment, It was peaceful, the cabin was clean , and over all it was the perfect little escape for two and the screened in porch and fire pit were highlights of my stay . Disappointments that were not in the owners control: The furniture was very hard to get comfortable on for me. the bed was too firm and the couch (being a sleeper sofa) had a sag in the middle and hard edges. Overall I could not find a comfortable place to sit or sleep I do not fault the owners because that's the nature of a commercial mattress and sleeper sofa. Disappointments that were in the owners control: There was no way of cleaning the grill. There was an old grill brush there but there was absolutely no bristles left and it was a flat piece of plastic. The grill was not clean and it was not ready for use. Also, when I was cleaning the ashes out of the grill it was very apparent that the "catch" for the ashes was almost completely rotted away and it made it difficult to get the grill ready for use. Just as I expect a clean cabin, since the grill and the gas cook top are the only way to cook besides the microwave, I expect a clean grill. My wife and I wanted to watch our traditional Christmas movies there, but the DVD player would not work. They obviously know there is a problem with the remote because they have taped the battery cover on. but try as I might, the player would not work. So, we decided to play trivial pursuit (a game provided at the cabin) instead only to find that one section of the board is completely missing and the parts that are there are ratty and tattered being held together again with tape. There are gaps around the fire pit on the bottom, which isn't a big deal, a fire has to breath, but this being fall, there was nothing there for me to rake leaves away from the fire pit to protect from starting a fire. I basically had to kick the leaves away and spent the rest of the night playing smokey bear keeping watch into the wee hours . So, about mid day Christmas day after finding out that the DVD didn't work, the game was tattered and incomplete, and that I would not get comfortable, I sent an email to the owners (Didn't Call cause it was Christmas and they deserve a day off too) letting them know that I would be vacating early. That was 4 days ago and I haven't heard a word back from them asking if everything was alright or if there was a reason for my early departure. I gave 4 stars because I think for the most part that the cabin is a great getaway for a couple, and if you come prepared for the disappointments, then there won't be any. Also, bring foil and plastic wrap if you need them. They have you covered on almost everything else.(added after owners response) when you say you made contact with us on the porch, you make it sound like you came over and introduced yourself as the owners of the property. My wife and I were outside on the porch, a nice couple walk by and said Merry Christmas and also something about snow in Nebraska. If that was the two of you, how on Earth am I supposed to know that you were the owners of the cabin? How on Earth am I supposed to know then I'm supposed to tell you what's wrong with the cabin? Saying that you made contact with us and I should have told you that then is a bit disingenuous. Again I liked your cabin and I'm not giving it a bad review, I'm just telling people to be prepared for the little details that you guys neglected. Quite frankly, I shouldn't have to ask for the grill to be cleaned, just as you mop the floor every time you clean the cabin, the grill should be cleaned. Or at least...

This is a beautifully kept Classic Caddo Cabin full of history and charm. The neighborhood has an eclectic charm full of art and sculptures. The cabin itself has an inviting screened wrap around porch with plenty of areas to sit play games and visit. Equipped with a set of bunkbeds and hammock on the screened porch perfect for napping in natural lake air. When you walk in, there is a inviting living room with wood fireplace and you can feel the charm and history right away. Hardwood floors throughout. Decor has so much charm many blasts from the past. There is 2 bedrooms one with 2 twin beds and one with a king bed. There is a half bath and a full bath with shower (no tub) although bathrooms are side by side they are well placed and add to the charm of this cabin. There is a bonus room with 2 more twin beds this is a walk through room no doors for privacy but in vacation mode adds extra sleeping area to add to your memorable stay. Finally the kitchen and dining area with a table that easily sits 8 and a fully equipped kitchen. Bring the groceries and you never have to leave this peaceful place while you are there. The lake is short walk down a quaint path with a pier that has two levels one built higher in the tree for a better viewing place equipped with 4 chairs and a table. The lower pier makes for a good fishing spot or photographer's dream. Walking around the neighborhood you will see so many delightful sculptures including several Volkswagen bugs adorned each with a different theme. If you like history and true Caddo charm over new construction or cookie cutter lodging this is the...
