I am very upset with the way Ptaks has handled my Tux rental. Well if you want to call it that anyway. I am getting married in three weeks. I guess I should first say that my fiancé called them 4 weeks ago and told them our situation, which is a destination wedding. The woman that she spoke with said there would be no problem getting a tux for the time period we are going to be away at the beach. 4/25/13, I call them and ask again if it is going to be ok to take the tux out of town for a week and a woman tells me yep that is fine. Just come in on Saturday and we will fit you. So this past Saturday I go in to be fitted. They close at 4PM. I get there at 3:40. Stand there until 4:30 waiting on the 7 people in front of me. They ask me what my number is and I said I didn't receive one. They then go on to tell me that they stopped taking numbers at 3:30. What a waste of time for me. So I call them on Monday and ask for an appointment and the woman says they don't take appointments. I then proceed to drive 45 minutes for the second time in 3 days to get fitted. I leave work early and get there at 4:30PM. 6:15PM my number is called. I start telling the guy my situation and he informs me that they do not offer weekly rentals. He goes off and calls the owner and comes back and says the owner says no. I then tell him my fiancé was told and I was also told on a separate occasion, I would be allowed to rent it for a week. The gentleman that was feeling for me and said he would try to help in anyway possible said to call the owner today (4/30/2013). Well of course I am working and am unable to just call about stupid crap like this, so my fiancé calls and the owner will not get on the phone with her to explain himself or his employees. How can you have a business and act this way? How can you not honor things that employees tell customers? Well I guess you can act this way when you have a monopoly on the tux rental business. Well We contacted Daniels in Morgantown and they said they could definitely accommodate us and they can guarantee they will be cheaper than Ptaks. They also said they will be staffed well enough to handle the load of people that come in for tux rentals. Seeing as Ptaks only had 3 people working both times I was there and as you can see from the amount of time I wasted in their store it was not fun waiting a total of 2 and 1/2 hours to be turned away. not to mention the 3 hours of drive time I put in on those 2 trips.    Read moreMy son rented a prom tux last year from here and no problems. This year he needed a tux for homecoming. This time, it seemed like a bother to help us. I picked the tux up on Friday because he had school and wouldn’t make it home until 4pm and that was too close to time for him to go there and try it on. I did have him try it on when he came home and and the pants were awful. Too short and so big, not the ones I believe he tried on in the initial fitting. Called to take the pants in and have the hem fixed and changed sizes. The owner was not kind and said he would do it but they close at 5 and I said I know, I can make it there by 4:30. They fixed the pants. Saturday before the dance he tried the jacket on and it looked horrible. Like all bubbled up from an underneath hem. I paid $153 for him to wear the white shirt that we got with the tux and he made a suit of his dads work instead. I returned it Monday and asked to speak to someone. The girl had me fill out a complaint paper and said someone would contact me and said the jacket did look really bad. Wednesday no one had contacted me. They said the owners may not have looked at it yet. So today is 7 days later and still no contact. I would never rent from here again. Customer service is key and this store has a huge fail in that. My boyfriend and stood for an hour & 45 mins waiting to get him fitted for a tux, picked out everything we needed, and when our number was finally called, we were told that someone should have told us from the beginning that they would not service us because of the date of our prom. This was told to us by the SAME person who I had talked to 40 mins before, who mentioned nothing about this! They need better communication with their customers because this was an extremely frustrating experience.
