Uniontown Public Library — Attraction in Uniontown

I have been coming in frequently for months now. I am an avid reader who loves to read nothing less, nothing more. Every other time I come in, the men who are "homeless" always have something really negative or rude to say. On more than one visit I had a man follow me around towards the back and just watch me as I was looking for books to check out. Another time he was following me around as I was waiting to check out and the woman was somewhere in the back room. Most of the time I walk in, I just get looked at with a grain a salt with nothing to say.

What is the point of having a book deposit if it's locked? I attempted to use it again for the first time since memorial Day weekend to avoid the unwanted attention and it was locked. I had to go in to personally return the books and deal with a man degrading me after I walked out, the same man that just the other day approached me saying "I don't see any black men around here." With my response, that's not really my thing! Men in general have never been my thing, but this town is full of unintelligent people who have a hard time minding their own business, respecting boundaries and clearly homophobic.

Took my granddaughter to Story Time upstairs in the children's area. She had a great time. Then afterwards she picked out books to bring home with her new library card. When we got home I read those books over and over again as she colored her art paper the librarian gave her. She probably could read them word for word by herself. Wide range of readings, no matter what you like to read they have many selections by many auther's. Computers are available, printing.. staff is very helpful, very friendly, if your looking for something specific, if they don't have it they'll get it for you. Hard to find magazines are available..
