Forget about customer service at this location as the night manager (Rob) will not do anything to help you! I rarely go to Weis Markets and now I know why. I had a sizeable order $439.46 and of course there was only one check out isle open. Plenty of self service check outs - only one full service!
When I went to the register there were two customers in front of me. I could see that the person running the register (special needs) was struggling with the entire procedure which quickly made the line even longer. I was patient at first. After struggling with the customers in front of me, I began unloading my full cart on the conveyor belt. Having emptied most of my cart, Ty decides to open the register next to me. Everyone behind me went to the other register and were promptly checked out and on their way.
At first I patiently stood by and watched the employee struggle with the register. After a while (I should have timed how long it took), Rob the night manager walked by and I stopped him and explained my frustration with the check out process and asked if he could have another employee assist with this transaction. Rob said something to the employee and walked away. I thought, OK he is going to get assistance for this special needs employee. No one came to help!! The entire check out process was painful to watch as the employee put one item in each plastic bag. I advised him that he can put more than one item in each bag so I don't have so many plastic bags. He said this is the way he has to do it. Other employees were in the area not busy and watched as I was clearly getting upset with the checkout process!
Once I finally checked out I went to the Customer Service counter and of course no one was there. I stood there for a few minutes and had to find the employee that was supposed to be manning that station. I requested that he call the night manager so I could speak with him about my unpleasant experience.
Rob, the night manager, came over and I advised him that he saw how this employee was struggling and the fact that he did not assist him or have another employee assist spoke volumes for him being a manager or lack thereof!!! Rob advised me this was his first day as manager (should be his last) and that this was a special needs employee. I advised I understand that but they should not be running the register especially when a customer has a sizeable order to check out. Instead of Rob being a real manager and addressing/fixing the problem, he totally ignored it and let a customer have a horrible shopping experience!! Rob did not seem to care that my experience was horrible and the fact that I will never go back to this location again!! So much for customer service!
And then the cherry on top of the cake was when I got home to unpack my items. At the deli counter I requested two pounds of the peppercorn turkey lunch meat. Instead I received two pounds of peppercorn "ham"!! UGH!!!
I was so tempted to take all of my items back and return them and get my money back! Needless to say, I would not recommend shopping here! Save yourself the unpleasant experience and go to one of the many other grocery stores in the area who will be more than happy for...
Read moreIt was 7:50 PM on 12/20/2018 and I went to the only lane that was open lane 10. One lady in front of me with groceries on the belt and one finishing. While standing in line the cashier turned off the light. The lady said he was closed. I said I was already in line and there is no other lane open. After no help from the front end supervisor because they someone is on the way they start at 8pm. The cahsier said he would take me. He then said if he doesn't clock out on time he gets written up. He said it happens all the time. He did lent want to get written up. To our amazement the supervisor ask for the cashiers badge so he could clock him out. He walks all the way over from customer service grabs his badge and clocks him out near customer services and walks all the back and hands it to him. So now he is checking the lady out in front of me while off the clock. I asked why are you working off the clock, and he said he didnt want to get In trouble. All the while the Supervisor and the customer service cashier standing there just talking. Around 8:00pm the other cashier arrives. Also he was turning people away to go to self checkout where there was another cashier babysitting. So the young very polite and very kind cashier was off the clock checking out to customers. The is a few more bad things that happened during the transaction that made the entire thing appalling. I felt bad for the young cashier because he doesn't know. And what I saw was a big company taking advantage of a young worker new to the workforce. This is the reason unions started because Shenanigans like this. Adding to this review 3/3/19. No matter what day and what time there is only one cashier open and the self service. So I either have to wait in line and things start to melt or I scan and bag myself. So I have to not only pay high prices but scan and bag my own stuff. Aldis is over 7 miles from me. Half the prices and at least they scan for me. Really cutting costs but not prices. Winder if these young cashiers get overwhelmed seeing the long lines and hear people huffing and puffing. If we have to do most of the work then it should be warehouse wholesale prices since you mainly have to pay shelf stockers. And have to learn and find produce codes also. Starting to get the hang of...
