Wow, just wow! 🙂

I'm 56 years old and I just became a six year old again! When you walk in Neumeister's, the first thing you notice is the aroma of Heaven. It is pervasive. A mask won't stop it. I'd imagine the wonderful lady that works there attracts chocaholics like hungry honeybees if she goes to shopping after she leaves work. You just know magic happens there.

The next thing that hits you is treasured age. You know that feeling you get when you walk into a church that has been there for a long time, and has been lovingly maintained by careful, believing, faithful, reverent hands? This place has that feeling. I am sure it has known delighted squeals from children inspired to sensory overload, and breathless exclamations from adults, but for some reason we felt the need to speak in hushed tones. Reverence for the church, again. 😀

Three displays are full of delicious temptations. A wall has prepackaged specialty chocolates. My husband got a Harry Potter frog.

So, what about the candy? WHAT ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE?! 😀

There are jelly beans, sorted by flavor. In chocolates there are creams, toffees, cookies, nuts, wafers, clusters, fruit slices, pretzels, marshmallows, and caramels, dipped in delicious, rich, silky, well-tempered chocolate: dark, milk, and white. Everything is sold by the piece or the pound.

Our clerk was very helpful, and even allowed me to sample a sugar-free chocolate orange sherbet cream (sweetened with sorbitol, FYI) that was delightful. Our purchase of a small bag of individual chocolates and the aforementioned frog came to $6. It could have easily been $30 if we hadn't been on our way to Cleveland!
