Soccer Planet — Local services in Urbana

I’m writing this review to express my disappointment with the treatment my child, who has special needs, received during their first visit to Soccer Planet. As a parent, I was hopeful that this facility would provide a welcoming and supportive environment, but unfortunately, that was not the case. On October 22nd, my child was excited to participate in their first soccer session. However, instead of being greeted with encouragement and assistance, the staff's dismissive attitude left my child feeling unwelcome and isolated. It was disheartening to see them struggle without the support they needed, especially in a setting that should promote inclusivity and fun. I believe that Soccer Planet has the potential to be a great place for kids to learn and grow in the sport. However, it is crucial for the staff to be trained to understand and support children with diverse needs. Every child deserves a positive experience, and I hope that steps will be taken to improve the inclusivity of the facility. I emailed David Galvin on Feb 8, 2021at 11:20am asking about one on one personal training for my daughter. I asked what days and times he had available and he emailed me back within 30 min and stated that he did have some spots and asked me which day and time worked for me. I emailed back 10 minutes later giving him my preference and still to this day Feb 18 i still have no response. I emailed him again Feb 17 to ask what happened along with a screenshot of the email i had sent and i still don't have a reply. I know we don't currently belong to Soccer Planet and from this experience will not in the future, but how do you expect to grow business by this type of action? My son does classes at Soccer Planet on Thursday nights and it's the highlight of his week. Coach Katie is super personable and really takes an interest in each player that attends there. The other coaches - Logan, Mark, Emma, and several others I can't remember their names off the top of my head - deserve awards for their passion for teaching. The place is like a second home for us.
