Diamond Bay Jewelers — Local services in Venice

My neighbor, who is a "work out his home" jeweler, gave me a name and number of a watchmaker named George. After speaking with George and relating that I had a few watches for him to look at, I was directed to meet him at 3976 Destination Drive in Osprey. It's a 30 - 40 minute ride from where I live in Sarasota and luckily the traffic was light. What I didn't know was that he was at 3976 "Unit 105" (Diamond Bay Jewelers) and it took me a few minutes to figure that out. I was buzzed in (locked entrance door), greeted politely and offered help. I stated that I was here to see George and that he was expecting me. I was quickly informed that George was with a customer and should be with me shortly. The store was brightly lit, clean and had comfortable chairs to sit in. I waited 5 - 7 minutes and George was ready to see me. This is when the magic happened. George and I went over the watches I brought in (1 for repair and to find out it's value, next one for it's value only and the last one to sell). The information he provided was thorough, detailed, honest and fair. The watch for repair no longer had a crystal made for it so no repair. The watch I brought in to sell was sold to them at what I knew was a fair price (I reviewed quickly prices online the night before). After all the paperwork, photo and thumb print I was presented a check. When I mentioned "magic" earlier it's because George had time to speak with me and we found that we had much in common. I met the rest of the store staff (during the photo, thumb print and paperwork) and everyone there was polite, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I can't say enough about Diamond Bay Jewelers! They have the best customer service I have ever dealt with. They are honest to a tee, they do incredible work and their prices are VERY fair. George has fixed the impossible multiple times. My mother and I both had watches we had for years that nobody would touch and he somehow fixed both problems and did them well. He had to find parts that were very tough to locate. And Monica is amazing with customers. She is incredibly helpful. She spends time to understand her client and always goes above and beyond to assist them to find what they need or are looking for. She's not pushy to sell. She knows a happy customer is a lifetime customer and we are for sure! This is their new store location (we used to go to the one they have on siesta key) and it's beautifully set up. I happen to like it better as it seems higher end. It carries two gorgeous lines I love. Imperial Pearls and Gabriel & Co. I don't know how they managed to get the latter as it's the best selling line in the US! Beautiful designs and a great price point. Before I knew they had this location I went to another local jeweler that was recommeded. I was disappointed on so many levels. They overcharged and they sold me a chain that broke within a month. Charged me to fix it and it broke again. I only went because of the drive. Now the location is so close to Nokomis/Venice that I will never make that mistake again! Truly they...

If you'll pardon the pun, Diamond Bay Jewelers is a real hidden gem! I'm a seasonal resident of Florida and I needed a watch battery for my Movado watch. Based on prior negative experiences, I'm particular about where I take my watches for service; I wanted to take it to an actual jeweler. After a Google search, I decided to go to Diamond Bay Jewelers based on another customer's review about their work on his Movado.

This store is off the beaten path, so if not for Google, I would not have know about. As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted cheerfully by everyone in the inside. Seeing as how I wasn't wearing my Sunday best that day, I appreciated the way they treated me. Every person I interacted with was incredibly friendly and respectful. When the jeweler finished working on my watch, he took the time to come out and talk to me about everything he did.

This place was simply amazing. I have other nice watches in need of repair and I intend to bring them down next season so I can return to this store. But I'll leave my wife in the car, because they have a lot of nice pieces in the store at...
