First things first, let's talk about the libations. The cocktails at The Point are expertly crafted, with mixologists who know how to tickle your taste buds just right. From succulent shrimp to mouthwatering fish dishes, every bite is a celebration of the ocean's bounty. Oh, and speaking of bites, the portions at The Point are incredibly generous, ensuring that you leave satisfied and full. The best part? The prices are very reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of the food.

Whether you choose to dine inside or enjoy the open-air seating, you'll be treated to panoramic vistas that showcase the natural beauty of Little Sarasota Bay. Let me let you in on a little secret, the top floor bar boasts one of the best views in the entire Sarasota area! Watching boats gracefully cruise by on the intercoastal or witnessing their attempts at docking adds an extra touch of charm to your dining experience.
If you prefer a more casual atmosphere, make sure to check out the tiki bar located right on the water. On many days and nights music fills the air, creating a laid-back vibe that perfectly complements the scenic surroundings. You can even find picnic benches with umbrellas around the outdoor space, inviting you to sit back, relax, and enjoy your favorite libation while soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.
The team at The Point is friendly, attentive, and always ready to ensure you have a wonderful time. However, it's worth noting that during peak hours, the kitchen can sometimes be a bit slow in delivering your food. But fear not, the staff is dedicated to continuously improving, and I'm confident they'll address this minor issue in no time. A special thank you to Michael for always taking great care of the patrons at the bar upstairs!
One last thing worth mentioning is the accessibility of The Point. Located at mile marker 38 in Little Sarasota Bay, it is accessible by boat. So, if you're a seafaring adventurer, you have the unique opportunity to dock your vessel and step ashore to indulge in the fantastic offerings of this remarkable restaurant. There is also plenty (and I mean plenty) of land vehicle parking for you landlubbers!

Read moreEdit!! So after this review, Mr Angelo the general manager reached out to me. They offered to comp my meal and rectify our bad experience. I took him up on his offer and they didn't disappoint. I came back to the restaurant a week earlier(without them knowing as a litmus test)to see if things were better than before, without letting the general Manger know. They delivered and showed why the Point is a special place. If any of you have had a bad experience here I urge you, to give them another shot. Life is about redemption and forgiveness. Try it again you won't regret it
Mr Jerry, thank you sir for the wonderful hospitality you showed my step mother and I. I thank your staff for their hard work. Yall have a special magical place here and this is why we come. Super grateful that you all decided to rectify this with us. Again thank you
Mr Angelo, sir I Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness in making this right. You have cemented the Point into our families lives and we will continue to frequent your establishment.
To the staff, thank you the most. When the hours are long, your short staffed and tired. I hope you know us in those seats appreciate everything you do. Thank you

It breaks my heart to write this, but here we go. Tonight was the worst experience I have ever had visiting restaurants. The Point is normally on POINT, always. So we arrived Saturday night Aug 6th 2022 at 5:35pm. Made an online reservation through Google maps. We were seated on the second floor outside overlooking the lawn and docks. It took over 1 hour to get drinks/water. My step mother, who I was treating to nice dinner. Had to go UP TO the bar Inside and order our drinks(mind you after being seated for 1 hour, 0 service). The bartender came outside about 15 minutes later apologized for the wait and took our order(dude was swamped at the bar). Half hour later food arrived. That was the last we saw of any staff willing to treat us as guest. I had to physically get up at 7:50 walk back to the bar and get my bill and to-go boxes. $77 bill.
This place was one of our special places in florida. We frequent this place quite often. I live here in sarasota county(nokomis). My father and stepmother own a house down the street from the restaurant 5 minutes away on the inner coastal.(half-backs) When they are not in illinois we come here on the regular with the boat or by car. We bring our guest/family who are visiting here to eat after a nice boat ride. This place is special to us, been coming since the grand opening. Just super frustrated with the service. It killed me to not leave a tip for the server(or lack there of) but you tied my hands. I understand being short staffed, having management shakeups, scheduling. I get it, but your customers should not suffer and pay those consequences.
Your only saving grace is that roasted cauliflower dish, used to be a cauliflower steak(new updated menu). I'm no "Karen" and won't demand a manager and cause a scene and ruin others experience. But I will speak with my wallet, and a review. I'm sure you will not miss our visits but, I'm sure other places will enjoy these new customers you created. This isn't me saying we will never be back. What it is saying is we will try to find a new spot and maybe drop by for your "redemption" when that is, who knows! You have always over delivered the 2 years and 50+ times we have been there always, not a single complaint. But tonight was just ridiculous. I felt ignored and unappreciated and that...
Read moreFebruary 15, 2023, We brought my visiting parents to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday and see the sunset.
Stepped up to the podium on the third floor. The woman at the podium was talking to another customer. When she was through talking, she just turned and walked away without at least acknowledging us with a "we'll be right with you".
Our server, Andrew P., came from the back room and seated us. Andrew took our drink orders. My father ordered a Coconut Mojito and my mother ordered a Sombrero. He never heard of a Sombrero but it is simply coffee liqueur and milk (this will be relevant later). After what seemed like a long wait we got our drinks.
We had an appetizer then ordered dinner. After a very long wait, Andrew came by and said that he would check on our meals. The food came almost immediately after but it was all very cool. Andrew said that he would have the entire meal remade. While waiting Andrew brought cups of chowder and bisque for us to eat. Sadly though very hot, neither was very good. When we got our remade meals they were warmer but still could not be considered hot. It appears that both my wife's and my grilled grouper sandwiches were simply reheated fish from our first sandwich as we both encountered tough spots as though it was overcooked. Unfortunately, my mother was not really hungry by this point and didn't eat much of her mac & cheese with lobster.
When our remade meals were delivered, my father asked for another drink, a Toasted Almond. Andrew asked my father to repeat the order then went to place the order. We finished the meal and the check was brought. As I was reviewing the invoice, Andrew delivered my father's second drink. Not only did it take 23 minutes (Yes, my father timed it) and was delivered after we had already finished our meal, it was not the drink ordered, it was another Coconut Mojito. When my father mentioned that he had ordered a Toasted Almond, Andrew said, "We don't have that so I brought you this" and walked away (a Toasted Almond is coffee liqueur, milk, and almond liqueur. We already know that they have coffee liqueur and milk from my mother's Sombrero. I find it VERY unlikely that they don't have almond liqueur. Even if they don't have almond liqueur, Andrew should not have brought a different drink than what was ordered). The second drink was on the invoice. I should not have paid for the second drink but at that point, I just wanted to get out of there.
Great view and sunset.
My wife and I had visited The Point previously with good food and service. If this had been our first visit we would never be back, ever. Since we have had good service in the past we will likely be back, eventually, but it will not be for a...
