This was my first visit to Grocery Outlet and I found that they have a variety of products to offer. The reason I'm giving it a 3 is mostly due to the layout and presentation. I'm a little OCD and really enjoy organization, colors and placement. There are also some very random products that you may not normally find at a grocery store. A couple of the aisles were almost like Ross or Tuesday Morning meets Smart and Final. Needless to say it made for an interesting tour of the store đ
With that said, I'll tell you what I did like about it. First, I found the employees to be friendly and helpful. They were all very nice and handled the fact that they were busy very well.
They have a variety of organic produce and products that are very reasonably priced. The selection of fruits and vegetables were fairly basic, but they all looked fresh. They had a few hard to find organic products that I didn't expect to see there. I found Spirulina, Moringa, Lacuma and some other superfoods that were super cheap compared to places like Sprouts and Lassen's. They weren't well known brands, but I am sure that they would suffice.
We are a vegan household and looked for some vegan products to see how they compared to the stores we normally shop at. It is rare that we eat processed foods, but we do know several vegans and meat eaters that look for plant based substitutes as they venture into eating a more plant based diet. The one thing that shocked me was that they carried the Beyond Meat Chicken strips for $2.99, which normally retail at an average of $5.99. So if you are into the the whole Beyond Meat craze, this is a great place to stock up. As far as other plant based items, there wasn't a huge variety.
Overall, the store has a lot to offer and their prices are very affordable. If we didn't live 30+ minutes away from it we might shop there more often. It was busy when we went so they seem to...
Read moreI was skeptical when I heard a Grocery Outlet was going to open here. I went to UC Davis and thatâs where I first saw and experienced a Grocery Outlet. It was terrible..rotting produce..smelled and saw people buy and take home half rotten produce. I never ever went there again. What I didnât know is they are LOCALLY OWNED!!!
This this Grocery Outlet over the last number of years, Iâve watched them be very clean, diversify their inventory, have enough BEAUTIFUL PRODUCE, and their produce being as low as me going to Food4Less aka saving me gas and time! I also appreciate how they have produce that is typical for Mexican cooking as itâs the other reason my mom would drive to Oxnard and not grocery shop in Ventura even though weâve lived here for 26+ years. Lastly, weâre vegetarian so the amount of produce, overall consistently good quality, and variety (like today I saw various types of mushrooms that I usually also have to go to an Asian store in Oxnard to be able to buy)!!! OWNERS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU DO!!! Overall I see most things consistently in stock and yes some flow as thatâs part of being an outlet. I love and appreciate when I do score that random deal like soymilk being in stock. I do have to add, I also appreciate that itâs a more local economy situation as Iâve started learning about circular vs when money is move...
Read moreOh gosh The Grocery Outlet on telephone road in Ventura is really clean, really well-kept up, and a reliable resource for fresh/frozen entrees salad kits vegetables fruits. A very good source for organic foods, fresh and frozen and important to me, Anthonyâs organic foods. I buy all of my daily use Anthonyâs foods such as almond flour, cacao, turmeric, etc. at G. O. also the packaged breads selection is great. G. O. nonfood includes a broad variety of food storage items, top of the line hair product, rugs, laundry and cleaning products, and brushes scrubbers dish cleaning, coffee. Their wine section is really very good as well. G. O. packaged drink selection includes Folgers, Truvia, olive oil, etc. I have purchased waste canisters with swing tops, lots of rugs, bins that bring my home decor together, etc. And the boxed broths are fantastic. Dairy section, has milk cream eggs flax milk and more. Best of all, hard to choose but it is a calm store. Always short checkout lines, and big enough to easily accommodate even during the busy hours. I have never felt rushed or âin the wayâ when I am deciding among goods in a section of similar items. I have never had a floor polisher say âexcuse meâ while making ME move out of THEIR way. So happy that I live nearby GROCERY...
