I received my very first speeding ticket. It was settled for $150. I went to the clerks window as I was told by the judge for payment options. I asked the woman how this works because this is my first time doing the payment process. She tells me to put the money in a envelope, stamp it, seal it, and mail it at least 3 days before the due date. I do just that. A month later, on December 9th, I received a notice saying that if I don't pay my $150 ticket to this court, my license will be suspended. I call at my earliest convience on Tuesday December 13th at 1:07pm. I spoke with Lisa. I start to explain the situation to Lisa. I asked her if she would be able to help me. She says no because "common sense would have told me not to send the money in an envelope." I told Lisa that it's not a common sense situation for a 20 year old new driver dealing with my first ticket, especially if i asked for instructions and a staff member proceeds to tell me to mail in the money. She tells me that it's my fault because I should already know that. I tell Lisa that I am not calling to argue with her, I'm calling to solve the problem. I then tell her ill just bring in another $150. She tells me that it's boosted up to $210 now because the case was closed. I told her that it does not state that any where on this notice that was sent to my house. It just says that I need to bring in $150 before December 14th. She says that they are not entitled to tell me that and again that's common sense. I then asked to speak to her supervisor. She ignores my question and continues to belittle me in a very loud and frustrated tone. I said again, you can't help me. Can I speak with your supervisor. She says no. I ask why, she tells me her supervisor is at lunch and she's not gonna wave the fee for me because it is my fault. I asked to speak to any person higher than her in the building. She then hung up on me. I called back, and she answers. I asked if I could speak to any person higher than her position once more and she says "ummm your connection sounds stupid and I just told you no" and hung up on me again. Very horrible experience. I am not sure who I can speak to, but I am devistated over here and Lisa is beyond rude. Now my license will be suspended over nonsense and on top of that, I got cursed out and belittled by Lisa. Unbelievable. What...
Read moreEverything about this court system is mind numbingly atrocious. The parking, clerks, prosecutors, public defenders, waiting time and judges. I've been going to this court system for years and it is by far the worst jurisdiction in Connecticut. Don't get in trouble in the Rockville/Tolland area, or your public defender will work against you and threaten you to submit to some mediation you never agreed to. Don't get Public Defender Channing, he may treat you unfairly, given that all the people he defends are convicts no matter what that deserve just punishment retribution. They might as well put a muzzle on you and send you...
Read moreMan... I brought so much evidence, notarized letters, probate paperwork, housing paperwork and much much more to prove the dog belonged to my mother. But a certain judge gave him to the man who took him away .. smh.. I showed up on time while the defendant was late and never showed.
My mistake was trusting in the evidence. I thought next of kin got the property of their parents... Idk idk... This system seriously let me down...
I loved this dog and someone told me to go to court and I did... But to no avail.
I'm going to take everything public. I am sorry for even trying with...
