Good park for a quiet overnight visit. The only thing boisterous in this park was the owner. All of the sites are pull-thrus, although there is little space between them.
I made the mistake of directing my husband to the wrong site because I wasn't paying attention when Tony gave us our site number. As a result we had to maneuver out of a rather tight situation. Thanks to the cooperation of a full-time resident who moved her car for us, we were able to make a tight turn with some extensive jockeying. To that end, understand that big rigs can maneuver in this park if you stay away from the interior row of campsites. When assigning campsites, the owner knows what he's doing to make your stay enjoyable. Be sure to tell him the length of your RV when making reservations. It was my error that led to our issues with the turn, not the owner's.
We were given site number one, which was easy to pull into and out of. Our motor coaches 43' long. We did disconnect our tow vehicle as we did not want it sticking out into the road behind the coach, which would have created an inconvenience for anyone trying to drive on that road.
We would classify this as a campground, not an RV resort although it does have a small pool. There are full-time residents but they keep their campsites neat. There is no junk or clutter under any of the RVs in the park.
Pulling out of the park was easy although we did not hook up our tow vehicle until we were on the straight road leading out of the park. If your RV is over 30 feet long, we would suggest disconnecting your tow vehicle at the office prior to going to your campsite. It will make it easier maneuver around the campground.
RVing bikers are welcome, tents are not. Discounts include Good Sam's, FMCA, and military.
We would return to this park for an...
Read moreThis our 2nd stay with Quillys, for work, we understand this place has new owners of and they are working very hard to make it a nice camp site. Sites 1-60 is gravel and very close together. Looks like some people live there with old run down campers. First time we stayed in lot 50, quiet but for us too close together. It rained and was very muddy. So, this time We stayed in lot 80 drive thru on pavement, nice size lots, not so close to each other, we stayed for a week for work in Vicksburg MS. We went swimming in the pool. It’s old but very clean saltwater pool. Used Laundry facilities which was clean, had passcode for safety no matter the hour, we can tell the place has age on it. But washers looked pretty new, $2.75 per load takes credit cards or Apple Pay or something similar, But was clean. They have a little play area for kids and a fenced dog park. Even though we were not traveling with kids or pets it looked clean. Has little baggies for clean pick up after pets all over the RV area. They also have shower and bath facilities (we didn’t use them so can’t comment) It’s far enough off the road you don’t have noise which is nice. Although, there was another camper lot 79, that parked beside us, they had kids. And in the middle of the night they were running around the parking area and they knocked on our window at 1:30 am. Which made us very upset as we had to get up early for work. They only stayed the one night and left, thank goodness. But overall was a nice place to stay and will stay there again if need to. And for a quick couple nights or a overnight stay, this is your...
Read moreFairly small park with the owner, Tony, on site all of the time. Friendly guy working hard. Many of the sites are long-term rentals or rented out for local workers. The row of rigs farthest from the main road are an eye sore. The ring road around the park is paved, and the interior roads are fairly narrow gravel. Most of the guests are pulling smaller trailers or modest size 5th wheels. We paid $28 per night which is inexpensive.||||There are not a lot of choices if you want to stay in Vicksburg. We tried two other places and couldn't get anyone to return a call. We picked Magnolia because it is in a good location close to the river, the military park, and the main town, and Tony handled the reservation directly. We came in from I-20 on 61 south, and the turn onto Miller Street eluded us. We had to keep going about a mile and eventually made a U-turn with our long rig and tow car. Not ideal but our fault. Just watch carefully for the turn if you come in this way. I would not come in on Rifle Range Road.||||Our site was good. Utilities work well. We got several cable channels although we spend about 30 minutes a day looking at TV so it didn't matter. Internet was fine. The site was not level but our leveling system did get the coach flat. Tony has done a good job building his business. The only critical observation is that things look worn.||||This location is workable for 1-3 nights, and we might stay here again. We camped at Magnolia RV Park Resort in...
