We bought a brand new Forest River FR3 from the dealer in July 2023. The sales was great, service department and the office girls that call on the other hand has been quite a joke.
First, we have had nothing but problems with the motorhome since we got it- the windows creep open when going down the road- cant get them to stay latched, the passenger window doesnt latch at all.
The screen door and main door stick and get stuck which makes it very loud to open and close and we have a 2 year old who stay in there so naps were impossible with that issue
Trim was falling off from the master bedroom, kitchen
screws were coming out from multiple places
one of the outside speakers wasn't working- we fixed that ourselves
the toilet has draining issues
the dash kept having issues while we were driving and the cruise control kept shutting off
When we initially dropped the motorhome off for the warranty work on December 8th the girl that took all the pictures and notes told us we were personally going to have to get ahold of ford for their warranty for the dash stuff, they don't handle any of that-- umm ok? then she also said the windows issues are a ford thing too.. weird but maybe they are.. either way, we just spent $140,000 on a new ride, i think that should definitely be part of their job especially while its under warranty.
Then about 2 weeks ago they call to tell us the toilet issue is not being warranted but they went ahead and fixed it..if it wasn't going to be warranted then they should have called us before fixing it. Also, they said the issue was due to us not holding down the water handle for two minutes when flushing, we said "well nobody told us that was something that had to be done when we bought it and we asked someone to go over everything with us but instead of taking time to do that they sent us a video and said here ya go" by the way- there's nothing in that video about holding down the flusher for two minutes every time we flush...someone dropped the ball on that!
Today we get the phone call from the office lady telling us we have to come pick the motorhome up but its not complete yet with all the warranty work. we asked why we have to pick it up if its not complete, she said because they are waiting on parts and if we leave our motorhome there while they are waiting on parts then we get charged daily storage. Mind you we live an hour and a half away and work 80 hours a week.. we asked how long it is going to be for the parts they said they dont know its forest rivers problem, could be two weeks, could be a month. We said well thats pretty crappy you guys make someone come pick up their motorhome and re drop it off just because you're waiting on parts- car dealers dont do that, we've literally never heard of anywhere doing that- she said well thats our policy backed by forest river..... we asked for a general manager she said they don't have one. We asked for anyone in charge ahe said they don't have one of those either and proceesed to email me a copy of the signed agreement with 3,000 fine print words on it saying we agreed to pick it up. Shay sucks is Tradewinds had some poor customer service values and just tries to get money every corner they can and they've trained their employees...
Read moreMy husband and son bought a camper from this company together. They were interested in a 2015 Jayco Eagle. The sales person Tara took them through several campers and let them know that the used campers come with everything they would have when they were new. If they came with chairs new then they would make sure the camper has it. If it came with a mattress new they would put one in. You get the picture. They were also told that each used camper was detailed out and inspected from top to bottom before they left the dealership. They were told that new batteries got put in it and were basically all taken care of to be in tip top shape. She then quoted a price for the camper of $15,995.00. My husband and son took a few days to think it over and decided that was the camper that they wanted. When they went to the establishment to purchase the camper they were then told that the camper would be an additional $3,000.00 for the inspection and new batteries and all the stuff the salesperson told them was included in the price. They decided to purchase the camper anyhow. When my son (who is 21) went back to the dealership by himself to look over the camper again the team members were rude and obnoxious to him. They treated him very disrespectfully. My son put a down payment on the camper on Tuesday February 9th. On Wednesday they finished the final paperwork and the salesperson told them the camper would be ready by Friday the 12th. My son called and they told him Saturday the 13th. On Saturday he was told Wednesday the 17th. On Wednesday they told them they just got the camper in the shop and it would be Friday. On Friday they showed up to pick up the camper and it was completely filthy and gross with dirt on the couches, cigarette butts under the tv, dust and dirt under the couches, and dirt, leaves, and grass in the storage cubbies underneath and dirty smudged fingerprints everywhere (they were told THAT was clean), it was missing the promised chairs, and they still had to put the cupboard door on. The “brand new battery” that was bought and paid for by the $3,000.00 camper inspection were dead. After being told the camper was ready and my son and husband came to pick up the camper the service department took another four hours to finish everything that we were supposed to have done before they came to pick it up. The service techs were also very rude and short with my son who arrived first. When my son asked about the missing chairs the service person was quick to snap at him that he didn’t know anything about chairs and to take it up with someone else. Overall I would not recommend this RV dealership even in the slightest and will be looking elsewhere to get it serviced. Overall horrible experience and I will...
Read moreI recently purchased a new camper from Tradewinds RV, and I cannot express enough how satisfied I am with my experience. I had been considering upgrading to a larger unit for some time and after talking with several other private parties and dealerships, I was fortunate enough to meet Perry at Tradewinds RV.
From the moment I walked into the dealership, Perry was incredibly helpful. He greeted me with a warm smile and was genuinely interested in helping me find the perfect camper for my needs. He took the time to listen to my concerns and what I was looking for in a new unit. He was very knowledgeable about the different models and features, and he was able to answer all my questions without hesitation.
One thing that really stood out to me about Perry was his patience. I am someone who likes to take my time and weigh all my options before making a big purchase, and Perry never once made me feel rushed or pressured. He understood the importance of finding the right camper for me and was willing to take as much time as needed to make sure I was completely satisfied with my choice. Perry also went above and beyond in terms of customer service. He took the time to show me around the dealership and introduce me to other members of the team. He gave my daughter and I a little tour of the building and even gave her a snack as we waited. He explained their maintenance and warranty policies and it was clear that he truly cared about his customers and wanted to ensure we had a positive experience. When it came time to make the purchase, Perry made the process seamless and stress-free. He helped me negotiate a fair price and made sure all the paperwork was in order. He also made sure I understood all the features and functions of my new camper before driving off the lot. Once I made my purchase, Perry made sure to follow up with me and make sure everything was going well with the new camper. He even offered to help me with any issues or questions I had in the future.
Overall, my experience with Perry at Tradewinds RV was exceptional. He is a true professional and his customer service skills are top-notch. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for a camper to visit Tradewinds RV and ask for Perry. He will make sure you find the perfect unit and provide you with the best customer service possible. Thank you, Perry, for making my camper purchase a smooth and...
