If you shop here for a used car, make sure you get a warranty. They’ll push one on you anyway, but you need one. My wife and I bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, spent 20 grand, only for the check engine and throttle control light to come on the very next day. Suddenly the heat doesn’t work nor does the engine temperature rise to a normal level, and the tires don’t seem to hold air, which was noted during our test drive and we were informed they would put air in the tires and be fine. They couldn’t get us in to service for a week, we’ve maybe put 50 miles on this Jeep and more than half of them were driving to the dealership. The service department wants to charge us out of pocket for what the warranty may not covered, even though we haven’t owned the vehicle for more than a week. What’s the point of the warranty? This place has no common decency, only sleezy car dealerships sell you a vehicle with hidden issues only to charge you more money. Job security I guess. Do yourself a favor and get a warranty, or do yourself one better and just don’t buy a vehicle from this dealership. Our salesman Jesse was nice, sadly, we only saw him for about 5 minutes, when the sales manager took over and told me I needed to talk sense into my wife and provided to talk down to her. Don’t go here.
UPDATE: Here we are again, back in service. We have owned this vehicle for roughly 8 months, and SO FAR this vehicle has been into service at the Clio location 3 times. This time, the check engine comes on, and then the entire cluster flashes on and off, and the radio, and the lights flicker. If this wasn’t a manual vehicle I’m sure the engine would completely shut off as well. Clearly a life and safety issue. Clearly bringing in a Jeep to a Jeep dealer they would know how to fix Jeeps…guess not. After several conversations with Gene, one of the service techs at Randy Wise, and the Jeep being in the shop for over a week, we were told nothing. Erroneous codes, they said, we re-did the grounding on the star connections they said, check engine light shouldn’t come on again they said. The drive home the check engine light came on, within the first 10 or 15 minutes of driving it. So, my wife goes back. She was told “sometimes satellite arrays can cause check engine lights to come on” by Gene. Really? So they got the light to go off, said they forgot something and said it wouldn’t come back on. So, we head home again. Immediately the light comes on again. Pull back into the service department only to be told…nothing. We have no idea what is wrong with this vehicle, because clearly THEY have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Another diagnostic was done, another test drive was done and again, the code was cleared and we were told the issue wouldn’t arise again. Clearly there’s an electrical issue that is happening and they can’t get to the bottom of it but apparently have no desire to continue looking.
Other issues are still not fixed with our vehicle are the parking brake (it’s a manual vehicle) and the tires have always leaked, the salesman told us they were just low and fill them up and 8 months later we still have to fill up the tires every week. Of course, these issue aren’t covered by the few thousand dollar warranty we purchased.
All in all, Randy Wise in Clio is terrible. Do not go here, ever. I wouldn’t even buy a new car from this location. Don’t get your car serviced here, don’t buy a used car here. You will regret it 100%.
Then to top it all off, our paper work states we are refusing service because we don’t feel like we should have to pay for these issues, and they won’t pay for selling us a vehicle with issues that should’ve been found by the inspection they supposedly did, but clearly did not. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP.
Go to Randy Wise in Durand. Better people, and...
Read moreI went back and forth between one and two stars on this review. I took my Town & Country in for service to address an unknown electrical issue and to figure out why it was so loud while driving. For those keeping track, that's two issues. I was told the diagnostic fee was $165. That's a ludicrous amount to charge when other shops charge $25, but fine, whatever. I know looking into electronic issues can take a long time. The technician that called me back told me the loud noise was a wheel bearing (which I knew, just didn't know which one) and it would cost nearly $900. I opted to pass on that service since a local shop can replace a bearing for $300 less. The electrical issues were related to blind spot sensors being out (a $4300 repair) and one door opener not working (a $700 repair). I asked the technician to disconnect the blind spot sensors to which he said "okay, sure" and to move forward with the door repair. When I received my bill, I noted a diagnostic charge for BOTH issues. $155 each. They were not up front and did not inform me that fee was applied per issue. I would have skipped the driving noise complaint had they expressly stated that. Maybe I'm ignorant on this, but I feel like something like this should be clear. $155 is a lot to pay, especially with the cost of living these days.
Flash forward to a few days later, I'm driving the van and the issue persists. I called the service department to ask what gives and was told that because I didn't replace the blind spot sensors that the issue wouldn't be resolved and that the sensors couldn't simply be disconnected. At no point in my discussion with the technician did he say that the sensors couldn't be disconnected or that my issue would continue if I don't get this service. Basically, I paid over $750 so that my sliding door would open automatically and my issues would continue to plague me. HALF of the cost was just the cost of diagnostics. Over $300 for basically nothing. The service rep I spoke with offered no potential solutions for the issue nor was there any acknowledgement on his end that, at the very least, it sucks that I spent so much money to not have a resolution. I did not feel like I was cared for as a customer. I did feel like I was swindled out of my money. I understand they need to be paid for their work, but when their cost is that high, they need to provide a better service and actually fix the issues.
Looks like I'll just disconnect the blind spot fuse and hope that helps. I will not be a return customer to the Randy Wise service department, nor will I chance purchasing...
Read moreCame in to have the trailer brake controller installed in my 2015 ram. Called around and this dealership was the only one that would install a self purchased oem Mopar kit. Completed the job and good price on labor. They even clarified misinformation I was being told by a different Chrysler dealership's service rep about scheduled maintenance due on my truck and warranty left on my truck. I'll be back for all repairs that will be needed. Update: 10/2/2019. Took the truck back for broken exhaust manifold bolts and leaking exhaust gaskets. They got me into a free rental vehicle, all warranty covered issues and had my truck done in 2 days no problems. Love this dealership! 2-1-20 Came in for a oil change and tire rotation. Was done quick and got to check out some nice new Jeeps inside the showroom. Love this place. 12-2-21 Came in for a tire replacement on our new leased 2021 ram 1500 that we acquired from this store. Drove the truck in on the spare. They quickly installed the new tire on to the rim and had the truck inside installing it and placing the spare back under the truck. This dealership gives you top of the line service and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I send all my friends and family here!! Downgrade after 2 straight years of poor customer service from the service half of the dealership. Purchased my first vehicle from them before Christmas of 2023 (2023 Compass Red addition) with over 3000 miles on it. From jump Street had bad vibrations at highway speed. Took it back to them multiple times and it never got better. Ended up replacing the tires with only 26000 miles on them and had to replace all the lug nuts at my cost as well due to the chrome caps swelling on the nuts. Had a rock take out my right fog lamp and headlight assembly. That was another bill to the tune of $1400. Had to put half down to order the headlight and even walk out with my keys! Wife return while I'm at work to have the headlight installed and they misplaced the half payment I had made. They tried to get her to pay the whole amount till I complained. Had a wheel bearing go bad and now one on the other side. Have been blown off twice for this issue and sent on my way. Multiple oil changes done by them and I have had to rest the change oil warning myself. 2 of the 3 service advisor's always have a attitude when I call. I paid when I got the car for extended warranty on rims and tires. There is a bent damage rim and can't do anything about it without the service advisor putting in the claim. Looking into pulling my business and my wife's and going to a...
