CITY FOLK BEWARE.On a spontaneous family trip,we found this beautiful little antique store with fantastic finds about a block away from where this place is located. After spending hundreds in the lovely store down the block,we saw mnm.Upon entering what I believed would be a cute shop like the one we had just left minutes prior.greeted by what was the only good experience within those walls. The sweet, little plump puppy that resided there. After saying hello to the sweet puppy for far longer than a 22year old woman should’ve. we all decided to see what there was to find in this little store in the middle of nowhere.being someone who prefers the darker things in life,I tend to draw attention to those who are small minded&cant comprehend how one can be comfortable&wealthy in my attire. Now,why this mattered,I’m not sure. However,I think I should warn you guys as it clearly mattered to the male shop owner there.I’m goth.I wear ripped jeans, fish nets, black combat boots,&was in search of some taxidermy dreams which I can usually find in Run down antique malls such as this. Now, a goth girl&an antique store is a tale as old as time. Anyone with half a brain knows that.&my mother, with over a thousand dollars cash in her purse was ready to find something she could store her niknaks in. So, she began her search. As I did mine, for just about anything that could catch my eye. I saw a pretty decent sized coin case which made me think of a friend of mine who grew up in a 2million dollar manor with a library 2 stories high filled with thousands of dollars in first edition books,Whom has been collecting coins for well over a decade & has a collection worth upward of $100,000 So, I figured I should attempt to help my friend add to his collection, even if it’s just one coin out of all showcased, it would be worth it to him as a collector; as well as giving this local owned shop business. Never will I recommenced this place after the remarks I had to deal with from the man behind the counter. Just as I did at the place down the street, I began taking pictures of what I thought could be some coins my friend could add to his collection. The man behind the counter says in a rude tone, loud enough to ensure I could hear him “she’s taking pictures. Why is she taking pictures” As if taking pictures in an antique store is against the law, or even odd in any way I reply telling him how my friend has a massive coin collection & would probably love their selection, he replies in an angry voice “oh yeah?! Or are you just gonna get me robbed?” Absolutely shocked, & finding his ignorance utterly hilarious I laughed it off & Said“oh no ha” & just walk away to tell my family the odd experience I just had with the shopkeep. The purse I left in the truck so it wouldn’t get dirty was worth 5000&to think this man insinuated I was going to commit robbery against him because he didn’t like the way I looked.A few minutes after our odd exchange,he announced he was taking the dog for a walk to his wife. When he left, we finally received great customer service! The lady was a sweetheart, contacted a vendor for my mother about a piece she wanted to negotiate on&they even decided on a price! They agreed on a little under300for a small curio my mother found. I found3posters that would’ve been roughly200.Mom didn’t have room for the cabinet, but I wanted the posters. As we are going to the car for my cash I see the plump pup came to find us to say hi! I ask the dog in a fast voice“how was your walk? Are ya happy!”Which got her excited & she barkedThe man yells “SHES(dog)SCARED OF HER(me) SOMETHING HAPPENED”his wife&my mom said “no, they’re playing! It’s fine!” His wife said “she does that to me to!” he insisted I must’ve done something to hurt the dog. The wife walks over to us w a leash in hand & the pup comes back over to me for more petting proving she wasn’t scared. His attitude cost them roughly from me 500 from my mother & I this week, as well as the hundreds/thousands my friends would’ve spent if I wasn’t treated like a criminal bc I choose to...
