For our son's 1st birthday party we originally decided to rent one of the party room's with access passes to the pool and game rooms at Kempsville Rec Center. It was closer to our house and closer to majority of the people we invited. After finding out that Kempsville Rec was doing construction and remodeling of their swimming pool area during the dates of our kid's party, we expressed our concern and they suggested that they could transfer the event to Williams Farm Rec Center. I'm honestly glad we did. Shout out to Lei, Brandy, Tim and the rest of the Williams Farm Rec Center front desk team staff! They made the transition to their facility and setup for the party the day of very very easy and stress free. They made us feel welcome and whatever we needed that day for setup, they did with urgency and a smile with no hesitation to help. We can't thank them enough for their assistance throughout the party! The Facility itself is very big and clean. They do a very awesome job at maintaining their grounds and just as long as you follow their rules and guidelines, its a fun time! The kids love it there, and so do we as the parents. Highly recommend for kids birthday parties and swimming pool access for the kiddos! Kids are entertained with a lot of pool access and activities to choose from with multiple stations for the younger kids to stand and play in shallow water, a dedicated splash pad for toddlers, a kids play playground with water falls and slide and surrounding activities, an outdoor water play place to also enjoy the sun when its nice outside, a decent size lazy river, 3 swim lanes for fun friendly competition races, and the massive tubed water slide they have for the older kids. One of the main things as a parent that i like is that the entirety of the massive pool doesn't get deeper than 4 ft. It takes majority of the worry away if you go their mainly for the kids to play. If needed, they have floaties and float vests for all kids sizes to use during their time at the pool. Its just overall very accommodating and good indoor and outdoor pool entertainment for the kids. Thanks Again Williams Farm Rec crew for the...
Read moreI took my nieces and nephews to this location. I've been to the other locations and the employees are friendly and helpful. I can not say the same about this location. As soon as we walked through the door the employees were barking orders at the kids and adults. Stand here, stand there, don't bounce the ball, don't bring the ball inside the gym, if you go in the gym.... Bring the ball to me. It was honestly insane and overwhelming. The employees were nagging and power hungry. The kids were doing absolutely nothing but standing waiting to get checked in. To make it worse, a brown skin guy came from the inside basketball court to walk outside and tell the kids their ctocks were not allowed on the court. (Which is fine as long as he says it professionally) My neice was just sitting there. The employee with small man syndrome told her to move and get off of the court. He spoke to a girl in that manner. (My niece is very passive and forgiving. So when she called me I instantly knew the man was out of line.) The kids said, "o we didn't know we couldn't wear crocks." He told KIDS, "well now you know. I'm telling you!" They ofc called me immediately and I came down and spoke to the manager who was nice. The kids repeatedly said how the man came outside with an attitude and was way too aggressive. It's funny that the lil man decided to wait until I left the area to approach children. I saw one adult with braids in the game room reprimand a little girl because she opened the door for me. I knocked on the door to come back in and the lady clearly saw me but decided to look the other way. Thankfully, the girl opened the door and sadly was reprimanded. They act like they don't want you there, it was extremely uncomfortable and unenjoyable. It's a shame the kids chose to play outside because they said they didn't want to be near the employees. The employees here are absolutely power hungry, rude and intentionally unfriendly. We'll never use this center again. I prefer the Kempsville location. Kempsville employees are phenomenal and...
Read moreWe have been going to this rec center for over a year. We love the pool for many reasons, it’s clean, everyone is friendly and normally we feel very safe. Today was a different story. My husband and I had our three grandchildren with us ages 5,5 and 3. Some teens in the pool were being very rough. I am aware older teens play rough. I do not think they are bad kids or anything like that. My issue is the life guards were not addressing the horse play, the peers pretending to drown each other, tackling each other and so on. I addressed the life guards several times over the issues. I went into the pool managers office and addressed the issues. She came out and stayed for awhile and addressed a few things. After she went back into her office, the teens started up again. We decided to leave and one of the teens would not allow me to go up the ladder with two of my grandchildren to get out of the pool so I told him he better move now. I told the lifeguard young lady that was watching I should not have had to address him she should have and I made it clear we were leaving due to the teens behavior and no one addressing it. I went back into the pool managers office and told her my concerns. She would barely speak just giving me a sideways smile. I point blank asked her why the teens were not made to leave. She refused to answer me. I stopped by the front desk and let them know why we were leaving. They tried to get someone else for me to talk to. No one was available. As I am standing at the desk several other families were leaving the pool and told us they were leaving for the same reason. I hold 6 memberships yearly to...
