Waffle House — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This used to be a great spot to eat the the food wasn't that great...my server didn't know what medium was. He asked me twice how did I want my steak I said medium please he said medium rare I said no medium he said medium well I looked at him and I said no medium please. I ended up getting a well done steak. Which was dry and taste like rubber. I also asked for onions on my hash browns and it was so little that it wasn't even worth getting.the only thing that was cooked correctly was the toast. I ended up taking the steak home and fed it to my dog. Wanted to treat myself instead of eating at work that day being that I work seven days a week I wasn't in the mood to eat in my job. (Ihop) also the employees stared at me like I was crazy because I was in my work uniform. When I went to pay I asked for a to-go box and I tried to give my server my card. He told me I had to talk to the register that he couldn't take my card at the table. I did notice that I recognized none of the staff which I know which part of the problem but I still don't think I'll be coming back. I went to the register and paid my bill and tipped my server and I didn't receive a thank you...and being that I am a server this really pissed me off because that just rude. Throw the...

Sorry excuse for a GOOD chain. Both cook, and waitress were both face deep in telephones for several minutes upon me and my wife walking in. Only for the waitress to still clutch onto her phone and basically have us raise our voice to order our food. My wife orders hers, no problem, then I start to tell her I'd like a t bone steak medium well, only for her phone to chime off, and her ignore what I was saying, just to check the phone and be oblivious to anything else going on. I stopped talking, and waited for her to finish, then she said that I could tell her what I'd like to eat, and at that point I'm getting frustrated, and said yeah I know and I did that, but the phone in your hand is way more important than that of the other people in this restaurant, and your job at that. My wife stepped in and said we we're gonna just go elsewhere. Pretty sad when you can't even go to a restaurant without this nonsense going on. Very displeased, and will never step foot in that location again. I'll make sure to tell everyone I do business to avoid this place due to a waste of time and lack of respect. Very unprofessional, do better...

The food was great! Service was not. The restuarant was not that busy. Yet We had to wait several minutes for our server to even acknowledge we were there. Then she only dropped off plastic knife and fork in a sealed plastic bag. Did not even ask if we wanted something to drink while we waited for her. When she finally came and got our drink order she took the food order as well. She brought out coffee in regular cup. Soda was served in recycled paper cup with a lid that was to big. We ordered our food and she walked away. When our food came, she dropped it off with the check and left. Did not ask if we needed anything else or anything. She had forgotten our waffles. We were done with everything else before the waffles even got to the table. Again, dropped the food and left. Not asking if we needed anything else or anything. No drink refills were ever offered. I had to flag her down and ask for soda refill.... Food was excellent!...
