Beautiful park, but I have one big complaint: the road to the visitor center closes at 4:30 pm, which is still broad daylight this time of year, and your vehicle gets locked in the park all night if it isn’t out by then. There is only one sign at the entrance which says gate hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm, but there is no warning that explicitly says your vehicle won’t be able to be retrieved once the gates close at 4:30 pm. And there is no sign at all at the entrance of the parking lot of the visitor center or once you park. There is a more explicit sign at the exit of the parking lot that says the gates are locked daily and that all vehicles must be out by 4:30 pm, which is what they need to have at the entrance. Having it at the exit of the parking lot doesn’t help. There is no number to call after 4:30 pm that anyone will answer to either. At the very least, they need to have more signs and be more explicit about what will happen if your vehicle isn’t out right at closing time. There are plenty of gates that allow you to leave but not enter, and that is what a lot of people will assume until you get...

Falls Lake fills so many needs!! Just off of what I saw today, there were people fishing, families playing in the water, birdwatching, hiking, kids on the playground, and a lot of people just sitting and enjoying the peace.

To be honest, I did not go into the Visitor Center but walked around it to see the sights. It's very clean, lawn and surroundings are manicured nicely and a lot of natural wildlife there enjoying it.

Make sure you wear good hiking boots or walking shoes, because there's a lot to see and the trails have a good amount of climbing up and down hills. Restrooms are located at the Visitor Center and at the bottom of the damn by the trail entrances.

Please enjoy this jewel so...

We literally hiked around this visitor center from one side of the hiking trails down to the water and around... Never been inside actually.. very cool area to visit for walking hanging out and just enjoying a little fishing on the lake.. there is a play ground for the little kids and a dam that you can walk across and take in all the views of the entire thing.. I have seen some people bring their drones out and fly them over the water. I went here for the eclipse as well.....

I have been around this area a million times, but I finally made it to the actual visitors center. It's probably smaller than what you're thinking, but it does have exhibits. Really happy to see stuff about the construction of the dam. Hours are fairly short, and no one else was there. Felt old, which is logical. Bathrooms are another building. Basic but functional. Very thankful to have them.
