J. Franklyn Bourne Memorial Swimming Pool — Local services in Walker Mill

This pool is a gem, and mostly because of the people working there. Normally, the pool has a 50m lane for lap swim and half is open for play. It's an L shaped pool with the short leg of the L having a small slide and deep end, but divding is not allowed.

During Covid-19, the pool is divided so that the short leg of the L is ropped for lap swim, 25yd length. Because the pool is not too well used, you tend to get a lane for lap swim, but if it's a bit busier like most pools, having enough lanes may be an issue.

The staff is friendly and well organized. The ladies in charge often keep pushing the lifeguards to be better through good guidance, training and reminders. We appreciate their work, their courtesy. I saw parents mostly bringing their kids to swim. They have a 9inch baby pool but the water is Always Hot, there 's a family of bees on the fence entering the pool and a ant concern while sitting on the deck of the pool. During the pool break period I dont notice the pool being cleaned but maybe something is cleaning the pool that I dont see. 2 ft to 3 foot pool water is warm, never cool. Doors should be open 10mins before opening because registration takes a while when there is alot of patrons. People who made reservation still end up waiting in line to register. I attended the 3:30 session at the pool on 7-21-24, I thought that I jumped in the pool with my hearing aids on. I went there the next day to report it, Danti Took my information and passed it on to kelly who found them. I received a call That evening from Michelle with the good news that they found them on a chair that I was sitting on.
