A Review: Part 2 (Please read Part 1, below, first)
To tell you the truth, I did not even know the type of massage I would be receiving when I arrived. All I knew at the time was that my wife had scheduled it for me. Remember how I mentioned the form I had to fill out? Well, it is not as if that thing just got filed away in some drawer, never to be seen again beneath a stack of post-it notes, loose staples, a gum wrapper, and a piece of hard candy that grandma had in a tin on her coffee table, along with a bunch of old sewing needles and stale cookies. Chandra discussed my responses with me in detail, confirming which areas of my body I felt needed focus.
The massage was incredible. I was left astounded at the different ways my limbs could be manipulated and still feel good. I am tremendously averse to popping my knuckles, my neck, or any other part of my body, avoiding doing so as much as possible. In the hands of Chandra, however, I wholeheartedly welcome the sensation. It felt as if my body was composed of hidden pockets of bubble wrap, and Chandra was a kid whose parents just received a fragile package from UPS that was kept intact by countless spools of those wonderful plastic sheets full of distinct spheres of stale, warehouse air. It is entirely possible that Chandra was able to unroll my arms and legs and mold their muscles into forms unknown to the greatest minds of the scientific field. My arms, legs, and back felt almost weightless after she removed the knots and tension that have beleaguered my athletic prowess for so long. My head and neck were similarly relieved of any stress that accompanied me upon my arrival. I mentioned earlier that I would have taken a two-hour nap if presented with the possibility. Somehow, between the reconfiguration of my extremities and the expulsion of air from between my muscle fibers, tendons, cartilage, and bones, I fell asleep. I was awoken gently by Chandra telling me that my time was up. At that moment I experienced enlightenment-level calm, but at the same time great despair, because now I had to leave. I would have been as equally content if she had shoved me off the table, dumped me onto her yoga floor mat, and left me to be for the next 8 to 16 hours. But alas, it was not to be, and I am left wondering what the yoga treatment is like. I guess that is for another time.
To conclude my review, I will say that Chandra did a most exceptional job. Her facility is inviting, comforting, and cozy. I am sure I will be making repeated visits here, as well as annoying all my acquaintances as I regale them with tales of my own experience.

I had not had a professional massage in a few years, and I remain altogether skeptical about most locations in the Lawton area. But when my wife told me about this little place opening up in Walters, I considered that it would be pretty darned convenient to get a good massage right in our home town. I place professionalism and respect as the top two exhibited characteristics that are expected of a massage therapist, even above the quality of the actual treatment. Someone who is new to the massage therapy experience might suffer from a bit of vulnerability and unease at the concept.
Chandra radiates professionalism and care. She conveys clearly what is to be done and encourages communication to ensure that her customer’s requirements are met. I was surprised that she had me fill out a form prior to getting my massage. It is similar to the form one might complete when visiting a doctor for the first time – do you have any allergies, injuries, conditions, or other factors that might influence the conduct of the massage; anything which could encourage added attention to specific parts of the body or, conversely, identify parts of the body on which to be a bit more gentle (or avoid them completely).
Her facility is the definition of peace and comfort. If she would have let me, I could have slept in the room for a good two-hour nap. Heck, even the massage bed, itself, is heated. That was a first for me. The calming music and the sound of the running water put me at ease immediately. At some point during my massage, I had the following thought - I wonder if she would let me bring in my own hour-long playlist of peaceful, calm-inducing music to play during a massage. Everyone has their go-to songs when they want to completely relax and sink into their sofa, beanbag, or bed. If you are reading this, I am willing to bet you already have a song or two playing in your head right now. It is funny how certain feelings and songs are permanently etched into our brains – how one song can take you instantly to a time and place of years past, and carry with it the emotion you felt at that moment. Okay, enough of my meandering digression from the relevant topic. You want to know bout the massage itself.
That will be continued in another review post because Google has a dumb...
Read moreI had a Thai Massage and Swedish massage. Both were wonderful. I'm a dental hygienist and have a pretty constant nagging pain in my neck, shoulders and hips. Some days is worse than others. I left with absolutely no pain and feeling amazing. I felt like I could breathe again. I couldn't stop smiling. Chandra was very professional. She let me clear my head and focus on my breathing.
If you're worried about the stretching part of the Thai massage don't be. She eases you into the stretches and she won't go past your comfort level. She could tell where I was tighter and where I was more limber. And I could tell she was easing me into the positions. I highly recommend the Thai, because quite honestly, we could all benefit from more stretching and she'll put you in stretches you couldn't achieve yourself. It's so beneficial for your body overall. Overall a wonderful experience and I will definitely be returning for my health. I feel like...
