TL:DR - Store part is fine. Pharmacy is a train wreck.
To start, I'd like to say all the employees there are friendly, and really trying their best. They are tired. They are underpaid. They are overworked. That being said, the store section (read as: not the pharmacy) is well stocked, organized, and great. Easy to find what you want or need, and check-out is a breeze.
The pharmacy is an absolute nightmare. While yes, I understand they are understaffed, and very busy, it's hazardous. Prescriptions are piled up in bags and bins on the floor, because there are so many. Employees have to dig through them to see if a patient's prescription is in there, which in some instances, it is not. You need to wait at least 10 minutes at the counter before someone spares you a glance, and comes over to see what you want. Then more waiting.
The computer system is often glitched. Sometimes the data I filled out in advance is there, sometimes it's not. Other times, it says something is in stock, and when I get there to pick it up, it's not in stock. There have also been instances where it says the wrong product. Do better, Walgreens.
I've also had the pharmacist try to give me the wrong vaccine TWICE. This could literally be a life-threatening error. Fortunately, I noticed the error before the needle went into my arm. Be sure to read the syringe and/or vial before accepting a vaccine there. If there's any doubt about it, stop them, and start over.
Unfortunately this is one of the only pharmacies my insurance covers, so I need to keep going there. So to sum up: store = fine, pharmacy = watch...
Read moreI wish I could give this “pharmacy” zero stars! Their “pharmacy” hours are absolutely ridiculous. No way to pick up a prescription on Saturday or Sunday. No way to pick up a prescription for an hour in the middle of the day. And now, on a Monday night, I can’t pick up my prescription because the “pharmacy is temporarily closed!” It’s a DRUG STORE! What kind of a “pharmacy” does not have a FULL TIME pharmacist on duty?! First thing in the morning, I am calling my Cardiologist’s office and switching to a real pharmacy where I can actually have my prescription filled and picked up on a regular, reliable basis! Update. Very foolishly, I thought it would be convenient to get my COVID booster and a flu shot, on my way home from work. So, I scheduled an appointment for 6:00PM on a Friday. At the appointed time I stood at the vaccination counter for a good five minutes. Someone finally came over to ask what I needed. I explained I was there for my vaccinations. I was told, “Oh, we tried to call you. We don’t have enough staff and had to cancel all the vaccinations today. Sorry.” Let me reiterate, this Walgreens is NOT a real pharmacy and does not have the staff to function with any sort of...
Read moreThis is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. The last two times I went to pick up my prescription after waiting an EXTRA DAY, it still WASN’T READY. Apparently, my time isn’t important, because both times when I went to pick them up, I was asked if I wanted to wait, after deliberately waiting the extra day to avoid this in the first place. So, I went back again this morning. To my horror, the pharmacy is completely shut down for the weekend. Locked up tight. So, I asked the one employee I could find in the store, what was going on. She apologized and said that they only have one pharmacist, and “corporate” decided this was the solution. Walgreens is a chain. Corporate couldn’t send a pharmacist from another Walgreens to fill in? What am I supposed to do now? I was supposed to start my medication Friday, and now I have to wait until Monday. There is no one in the pharmacy at all, so I can’t have the prescription sent somewhere else. I’m sure I won’t be the only person affected by this ridiculous decision. Wantage residents, don’t patronize this store unless you enjoy...
