I HIGHLY recommend Techoid Computer Repair. Tom is professional, friendly, and goes the extra mile for you.
I'd broken off the plug from the power cable to my laptop and it was lodged inside the laptop and impossible to remove. I was considering replacing my laptop with a new one. Buying a new one with similar features would've cost around $1200.
I had a problem with the same laptop 6 months prior and had gone to "We Fix Phones N More" in Warrington. It was a huge mistake. "We Fix Phones N More" may be good with phones, but for computer repair do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs. My disappointment with them was the primary reason I considered buying a new laptop.
Tom was able to repair my laptop for under $200, which was a gigantic savings over the $1200 I would've paid for a new laptop with similar features. I hadn't told Tom about the repairs that "We Fix Phones N More" had made, but when I picked my laptop up Tom pointed out the remaining issues with my laptop. They were precisely the problems that "Phones N More" had supposedly fixed!!!! The work they had done (replacing the screen) was workable but shoddy, and I'll be going to Tom later this year to fix the errors "Phones N More" had made.
The bottom line is that I highly recommend Tom and Technoid...
Read moreSo I was looking for a pc repair shop near me on my maps and came across this place. The man was very informative and seemed very knowledgeable about what he was doing with computers. I made an appointment, brought my pc and he asked what I needed done. I told him my cpu was always at 100% utilization when playing games and my pc was getting very hot and making weird noises. He told me what he could do and I left my pc there for about 4-5 days. Throughout those days Tom, the man fixing my pc, would call me to let me know what problems he'd find or what he was going to do next. When I picked my pc up, the price for fixing what I wanted done was a little more than I expected but I don't know much about computers and I know it's alot of work to do. When I used my pc after bringing it back from the shop I did notice improvements. The only reason I'm not giving 5 starts is because my pc does still sit at 100% utilization but doesn't get as hot as it did before, at least I don't think it does. He added a new fan for cheap as well as an extra 8gbs of ddr4 ram and got me an Ethernet cable bc my old one gave out. My pc is very clean now and he also repasted my cpu which was one of the main things I wanted done. I would definitely...
Read moreTom did a solid job of diagnosing the issue with my PC and repairing it. However, during our communications via phone, he came off a bit pushy and condescending. When my PC was returned, there was a loose screw bouncing around inside and he forgot to re-attach a hard drive. Tom also would not agree to re-install my OEM version of Windows that I already owned (still a supported version) and insisted that he would only install Windows 10. He charged for a Windows 10 install but the version of Windows 10 he installed on my PC ended up being unusable months later due to the attached Microsoft license not being legit. I had to reinstall Windows using my older version, which took more time. At the end of the day, my PC works great since Tom's fix and he is clearly an experienced PC repairman. I just had to be honest about these other items, as they rubbed me the wrong way.
edit: In response to the owner's response, I no longer wish to work with Technoid, I'd rather just move on. I appreciate the feedback and I...
