I had a horrible experience and I feel I was discriminated against.
I have been looking for a place to get my hair cut for a few weeks. I got stationed at Robins AFB last summer and having a 1-year old haven’t had any time for me since the move, including a haircut. After researching a few places, I decided to call “Fringe” and make an appointment to have a hair cut and put in some highlights. This would be new for me as I have never had color put into my hair but I decided why not treat myself. I spend most of my time in a uniform and chase around a pre-toddler and it would be wonderful to look and feel nice for once. After talking with Gloria (who was very sweet on the phone) I had an appointment scheduled with Tracey.
Day of the appointment my son unexpectedly got sick and I called the store to let them know I would be about 20 minutes late. Life does happen sometimes. I would have completely understood if they said they no longer would hold the appointment as it is a business and it would be understandable. Gloria talked with Tracey and said it would be ok but she would only be able to do a cut since there was an appointment scheduled after mine. I was definitely grateful and was told by Gloria “see you when you get here”.
Queue when I got to the shop. I ended up getting to the shop 25 mins after the start of my appointment. When I walk in Gloria and Tracey were standing at the podium. I apologize and let them know about my son. Tracey started babbling about how her next appointment was a “lady with super curly hair like hers and that she would have to blow it out and it would take a while to do”. It takes a few minutes for her to basically say that she no longer wanted to work on me. I ask her why didn’t she just let me know that on the phone when I called her? She stated it was now basically 30 minutes after the appointment and that she was sorry. I let her know I thought it was unprofessional for her to wait until I got into the shop for her to just refuse me when I walked in.
To be perfectly honest I feel discriminated against. Was it because you took one look at me and I was in sports attire, sneakers, messy bun, and Filipino? I have never thrown out the discrimination card but I’ve also never felt this way before.
If you had a legitimate scheduling issue why wouldn’t you tell me when I called? Why wasn’t I called during the time you were standing at the podium waiting? Why wait until you saw me?
It just didn’t add up. Don’t mask it with “I have another appointment at 2”. THAT was also her reasoning.
If you remember what my original appointment was for you would remember that it was for a cut AND highlights it was originally scheduled at 130. In what world would a stylist be able to do a cut and color in 30 minutes?! I am sorry to say this actually affected me in such a way that I cried the whole way home and decided to write this review.
If the store is reading this I sincerely hope you treat people better...
Read moreI have been coming to Tracy for many years! And I find Stephanie’s “article” very amusing! You tried using the “race card” on someone who has a biracial son!!! She has always been extremely professional and goes out her way for her clients. I called her to see if she knew about this UGLY post. And she knew and thought it was funny herself and told me that this story you made up was NOT TRUE!! She was”working you in” and your appt was at 1pm and you showed up at 2:02! And she HAD to finish out her other clients. She’s a busy stylist and has many followers that come from all over and does ALL TYPES OF HAIR!!!! She also said you called 15mins before your appt and said you were 20mins out. When you showed up an HOUR AND Mins LATE. Of course she couldn’t do your hair!!! AND she offered for you to come in on a different day! So EVERYONE READING this nonsense do NOT think this is Tracy!!! She is amazing stylist who attends ALL the hair shows out of state and who stays on top of things!!!! So try her!!!! Do not believe...
Read moreI was looking for a home salon and I called Fringe to make an appointment for a cut and style. Called on Thursday and someone took my info for a call back. Friday late afternoon, someone finally called back. The lady asked what I wanted. I told her that I was looking for a LOB and style. When she heard that she seemed very annoyed, sighed heavily, and said that "this is a very tedious job". Since it's "tedious" she will have someone else call back. It's now Monday & still no call back. If they can't even provide any care or customer service over the phone, imagine the care they would give to your hair. I guess they don't really need any new business, specially "tedious" jobs. I Do Not recommend this salon. *Just got response back. The call back is from a lady from Fringe salon. I only called 2 salons and the other booked me right away. So, yes it is someone from Fringe but...
