Warrior eye care is very clean and the staff was very friendly... until I realized how bad I was wronged and contacted my daughters insurance company to make sure what I was charged was right and it was not! My daughter just started receiving âall kidsâ benefits at the time I was not fully aware all of her benefits etc. they did full eye exam said they were gonna give a very low prescription eye glasses (I have never had any eye problem never even been to the eye doctor so I didnât have a clue about the examinations and what they were doing) ok so we go out to find my 5 yr old glasses she keeps crying and saying her eyes are burning really bad and she canât see itâs blurry and keeps on and on and I was like oh are her eyes burning bc the eye drops! She was like ohh yes they dilated her eyes.. ohhh Ok well I feel stupid however I told them I didnât know nothing at all about what they were doing etc... anyways the lady was nice and pt she picked my daughter out some glasses (most expensive ones lol) asked me one question then told me I owed 254.00 I said I donât have that! I began to panic she said well without insurance it would 649 so thatâs good .. I said ok but I still donât have it she said well u have to atleast pay 60% today which is 160 umm well I have to write a check bc my check isnât deposited til midnight she said thatâs fine! Iâm now so sick bc I canât understand why it would cost this much... well I started actually looking over the Receipt with the breakdown of my charges and there is all these additional charges for these glasses that I knew nothing of! I was like ok Iâll go by next week and see if they can explain what this about weâll they called before I had a chance to get by there and said her glasses are in but I owed the balance of 94.00 and I couldnât pick them up til it was paid in full ummm ok I called insurance they informed me they paid 639.00 and I only owed 13.00 wait! What!? So the insurance contacted warrior family eye care and made a deal about that got corporate involved almost been 3 weeks still waiting on my refund however they said I will get it but are very rude about it when they were the ones in the wrong! So we will find a...
Read moreItâs unfortunate that google doesnât allow negative stars. My son broke his glasses that we purchased from this establishment. My wife took them back to see if they could be repaired to which the employee said they couldnât. My wife called me to ask what to do so I told her to get a price on new frames for the existing lenses which they gave us. In the meantime I found the manufacturers hinges and ordered some to repair it myself. So we were either lied to or they donât repair but they should have just said that. I told my wife to bring the glasses home and I would tape them up until the hinges come in. My wife calls me later and said that after we got off the phone the employee said she would tape them so she went to the back and when she brought them back there was glue all over them including the lenses, now the lenses are destroyed. We discussed this with the store for about two weeks until they said they got everything worked out and they would call us when the new glasses and frames (free of cost) come in. Over a month goes by and they call, they say insurance wonât cover it (they claimed they had gotten approval) and the order is canceled. The manager that called was rude with my wife and told her they were not going to make this right, even replacing the lenses that they destroyed. So now my son has been without glasses for 8 weeks and we got nothing. This is truly the worst shopping experience of my life! Save yourself the trouble and travel to day eye care in Gardendale. Itâs more expensive but they are not rude and they take care of problems when they arise.
This is an update, they reached out to me like they were going to make it right but then ghosted me. It would be an awful mistake for anyone to use this company, just to risky. I canât imagine destroying a customerâs product then treating...
Read moreWhen I moved out to this area I wanted to use local businesses and my family started to go to this eye doctor. At the time, it was an independent practice and we thoroughly enjoyed the service, attentiveness by the staff and doctors, and prices of the eye wear (3 out of 4 in my household wear glasses or contacts). Since the practice has joined EyeCare Associates, our experience has declined. The staff and doctors are nice and the space is clean but we feel like another number. In addition, the cost of the eye wear has increased and brands that were once sold there and I preferred are no longer available. My most recent incident will have me looking for another doctor and not revisiting this location. I ordered glasses (frames and lenses) for my daughter on May 14th. We're contemplating eye surgery and the specialist (not at this location) wanted to first see if a new prescription would help. I was told the standard 2 weeks and they came and went with no glasses. I called and was told that the lab required by my insurance was behind due to furloughs which I totally understood and didn't have a problem with. I called back 2 weeks later and still no glasses. My husband went by the shop on Monday, July 20th and her glasses were in. He was told they came in on June 20th. I did not receive a call, text, or email about the arrival of the frames. Why hold on to glasses for a month and not notify the patient that they arrived? I think this speaks to how much they value or don't the relationships they have with their customers but then also meeting their core purpose of providing quality eye care which should include letting customers know when their glasses arrive and not sit on them for a month. My rant is now over and I will not return to this company regardless of...
