We were fed up with our previous security company at our east coast home and set out to find a replacement. We came upon RI Home Security, scoured the ratings, and decided to give them a call. Our experience began with an engaging and most affable conversation with Nicole, wife of owner Jake Murray. She took the time to listen to our concerns and said she would talk to Jake and he would get back to us; "get back to us"... a line many of us hear these days without result. Yet, as noted, voila, Jake connected back almost instantaneously from a job location! We shared concerns. He then went on Facetime and had me walk through the alarm configuration and apparatus with me on the phone. He assured me that a switchover would be relatively simple. He explained steps we needed to take to assure electronic transfer of info between companies so that it would be flawless and shared he'd be ready if we made the decision to switch. No hard sells, no hard sales pitches to sell us new equipment. Great experience! We had Jake and associate Thomas come by this week, set up transfer, install a piece of equipment we wanted, to enhance the system, and explain the new features to us. Again, great experience. They took the time to walk us through new info, conduct some simulations of configuring settings, and pause for questions...thoroughly, diligently and keenly aware of our learning needs. Since installation and turn over we had a little problem with an AC unit's functioning within the system. Jake and I texted back and forth, Jake went into the system to conduct tests, and we worked together remotely to bird-dog the issue. This went for some time as both of us would come up with an idea and connect with the other. Jake determined the alarm system was OK, I concurred, and we both thought it may be time for the HVAC service to come out. (Our HVAC config is nearly 2 decades old!) But Jake did not stop there. He connected with HVAC experts he knew and came back to us again with new ideas. In the end, info he had researched on own and shared with me worked to get things going and it appears I will have saved money by crushing the need to call in my HVAC guy...thanks to Jake's continued pondering of the problem and reaching out to his resources. Also, as we set up contracts, we were in contact with Nicole who was ever "the gal next door". She helped us through the documents' signing and options with ease and good nature. She made us feel like we had been friends and neighbors for years!

What a gem of a business in these times of erratic and inaccessible customer service. absolutely horrible experience. Spent almost 8K on a system that was all internet based. It is all smoke and mirrors. If you have his system already, make sure you check to see Jake cannot access it without permissions. We caught him in our system and he said we were first to ever ask for permissions to be needed. Ended up having it all ripped out because I felt unsafe after he installed. Paid less for a hard wired system that is much more reliable. I would also ask him to verify his reviews. We are still deciding on how to handle him. Hard to figure out what to do with someone you don't trust that knows every inch of your house. There are much better companies to entrust your safety with. This one is not the way to go. And if you do have a problem, go to the Department of Labor and Training. They have process for handling these situations. But don't expect to get your money back. In the end, do your homework on the owner and the company. Your safety is worth it. My experience with this fine company began with a phone call and surprisingly enough, it was answered by a person which is highly unusual in this day of age. Nicole was wonderful on the phone and an appointment was made. Subsequent confirmations were made via email and Coco was scheduled to be at our house at 9 AM the following Friday. Coco didn't show up at 9, he showed up a few minutes early! Professional, informative, and attentive, a new home video surveillance system was chosen and an installation date was set. The day of the installation, I received an email notifying me of their exact arrival. Coco and his assistant, Tommy, were efficient and a pleasure to have in our home. After the installation they helped us set up our phones and iPads, making sure we were totally comfortable with the new system.
