Yesterday a few friends and I went to dinner at Shogun to celebrate a friends birthday. This was by far the WORST experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The waitress was great, however, I found a piece of hair in my food. When I brought this to the waitresses attention she said she would speak with her manager and come right back. A manager comes over with rage in his voice already, with the plate of food in hand, places the plate of food back in front of me and says he does not see any hair in my food. I turn on my flash light and point out the piece of hair. He then replies that his cooks wear hats so it cannot be an employs hair so he doesn’t know what I want to do. He then implied it could be my hair. The hair was black. I have light brown hair. Overall his customer service was HORRIBLE. I’m a restaurant manager myself and I would NEVER speak to a customer that way! Not once did he offer an apology nor did he offer to remake my food. Finally, the bill comes & my dinner (that was thrown away) was still on the bill. I asked the waitress to speak to the manager who was now sitting down on his phone drinking a beer! When he comes to the table I asked why was I still being charged for a meal I didn’t get to eat. His response was he didn’t like my attitude so he wasn’t going to work with me. After arguing he eventually took the food off of the bill while talking horrible about me and my friends to his staff. Blurted out loud he no longer wants me in his restaurant like I did something wrong! There was hair in my food!!!!! This was my first & LAST time ever going here! The waitress knew her manager was wrong seems she apologized multiple times for his behavior and our experience! If I could give this place zero stars based on the managers actions I would! Shame on him talking to customers like that and shame on Shogun if they don’t take action in his behavior, maybe don’t allow him to drink on shift if he can’t...
Read moreLast night, I went to eat here with 2 friends. We had call ahead seating for 6:30 and were not seated until 7:45. The bar area was way overcrowded, so we waited in the car for the first half of our wait. Once we sat down, we were asked for our orders right away. We ordered hibachi, and the soup and salad came pretty quickly. After that, we sat for over an hour without one single visit from a server and without the chef showing up at the table. Meanwhile, a service man in pajama pants (with 2 other men) were attempting to fix the heat which we learned was not working. We complained several times about being cold, and eventually were told it was not working. Everyone at my table as well many people at other tables ate dinner with winter coats on. It was something like 10 degrees outside last night, and the thermostat inside Sho Gun was reading 52 degrees. When I told the hostess it was cold she said “we have 3 men working on it downstairs.” And I expressed again how uncomfortable it was. She repeated herself (snarkily)… “there are 3 men working on it downstairs.” I then said they really should do something for their guests. Her response was “and what is it that you suggest we do?” Sorry, that’s not my job to figure out… And there was not even an apology. When the bill eventually came, it was dropped in front of us, with no exchange… again no apology. It honestly was a very strange experience and I could not believe the lack of hospitality that came from a place I and my family loved going to for years. On the up side, my friends and I had more laughs over the experience and it’s a night we will never forget.
Sidenote - The best service we got was from the bartender… thank God! (I had to get up after being seated to order drinks for my table while my...

Abbreviated version: The hibachi is good but the customer service was a fail, it got so cold in the dining room that you could see your breath, the staff showed no empathy to and couldn't care less the only thing they knew how to do is take an order. We asked for a manager and and was told there was none. We wanted out of there so badly at the end that we didn't realize until we got home they automatically added gratuity which is shameful especially after the worst dining experience any of us have ever had.
It's been six days since this all occurred and I am still trying to wrap my head around the avalanche of epic failures that occurred and believe it or not there is so much more that went wrong but this review is already long enough. You just can't make this up
Here are more details: Made a 7pm reservation for my daughters birthday dinner well 7 came and was a distant memory after several complaints we asked what's to point of making a reservation the same hostess who took my reservation on the phone tried to claim they do not take reservations, people that were walk-ins got seated before us finally seated at almost 8pm. We asked for a cooked sushi appetizer that was on the menu but they weren't making sushi that night, we realized the heat was out as we waited almost another hour for the cook who arrived as we were standing up to walk out and at this point everyone in the dining room was bundling up. It was 48 degrees in the dining room when we left. I am shocked that there are not a mountain of bad reviews from that...
