Edit #2 - 2025 Theater #10 is a rip-off! This place needs to let the customer know what number theater they will be in before finalizing the purchase. Had I known that the summer blockbuster I was paying to see was going to be shown in a tiny musty theater with no air conditioning and the dirtiest run-down screen imaginable, I would have just stayed home. AMC Sunnyland 10 hasn't made a single update to their establishment in over 10 years; the seats are outdated and disgusting, and the silver screen should have been replaced years ago. Shame on them for charging what they do for such a sub-par experience. AMC, this is to you; stop parading Nicole Kidman out in front of every single movie just to preach to the audience how important is that we come to somewhere WE ARE ALREADY AT! Shame on you for charging the outrageous prices that you do for something you haven't invested a dime into for the past decade. You wanna know why patronage is down year over year? It's because you've sucked every bit of value out of movie theater experience for the consumer. I'm voting with my wallet from now on and keeping my money.
*InB4 the standard reply of 'contact AMC corporate directly' don't give me your push-off, I've already sent them my complaint. I'd rather get the refund I asked for...
Original Review I live right around the corner from this theater. It's never really been outstanding, but it was much better before it went to AMC. Now the cleanliness has gone down, still haven't updated the theaters, popcorn is absolute crap every single time (and I'm talking about stale on Friday night at 7pm), concessions prices have sky-rocketed yet now the customers are expected to do everything themselves.
Edit #1 Theater is somewhat cleaner now. Haven't been served any stale popcorn in quite a while. All the theatres could still use updating; screens are in horrible shape. Customers still have to butter their own popcorn and pour their own drinks and movies never ever start on time, always at least 10 minutes and then you get to sit through 20 minutes...
Read moreOverpriced for what you get. This theater is old. They don't have stadium seating (which would be ok if their prices would reflected it).
There are a decent number of screens, and they do have DLP projectors. However, my biggest issue with this theater is that they crop of the sides of the movies to fit their screen size. Their screens are 16:9 ratio, and movies typically are wider then that. Instead of showing movies at full width, they chop off the sides. It's not always a big deal, but when you get to parts where important content is cut off the screen, it really stands out.
Again, if the prices reflected the full package, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but there are multiple movie theaters within 30 minutes that offer the latest and greatest in quality and experience, and the AMC Sunnyland is just as expensive, or even more expensive then those other options.
If you just want to go see a movie, and the cropping and lack of stadium seating don't bother you, then sure, this place plays moved and sells overpriced snacks just line everyone else. But, if you want to experience the movies as the director intended, and you want good seating, there are other local choices that offer it at the same...
Read moreEver since the former general manager Tim retired, this place has gone to hell! The ladies bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned since this time last week, if then. And just outside the exit door, someone dumped an entire slushie, meaning our shoes were STICKING TO THE CONCRETE! We popped back in to tell the woman with the manager badge as I'm certain the two boys at the counter on their phones wouldn't have cared.
Kind of like how they let people in for the next movie AT THE END OF OURS! That's right, the big ending, when we see the final action RUINED by a rude couple just waltzing in and then SITTING ON THEIR PHONES AND TALKING!!!
That's the experience you'll get now. Your movie doesn't matter. Hygiene, health, and safety doesn't matter. This used to be a 5 star movie theater and preferable over Peoria despite having uncomfortable ancient seats because the staff used to be nice, the concessions better tasting, and bathrooms clean. Last time we got popcorn we got food poisoning and the bathrooms were disgusting. It's been probably a few months of going to Pekin or Peoria only, and I can't imagine wasting gas on this...
