Washington’s first recorded entertainment was in 1865 when Yankee Robinson’s “Big Show” which included a circus, minstrel show, menagerie, and museum, came to town. Other early entertainments appeared in the courtroom of the county courthouse. The Town’s first space built specifically for entertainment purposes was Corrette’s Hall, located upstairs, it operated from 1866 to 1870. The second was Everson’s Opera House, also an upstairs space operated from 1868 to 1895. What a glorious piece of American architecture and history

What a fun setting to watch a movie on the big screen! Advertised as the oldest continual movie theatre in the world! Theatre was given a facelift a few years back but still holds onto the charm of the past. It still utilizes the raising of the curtain before the show!!! Balcony is our seating area of choice with comfy cushioned seats and A LOT of leg room!!! Usual movies food and drink selection. Place is a hidden gem.

The history of this theater is so cool- the setup is lovely. I have never had a bad experience with staff. However, they keep movies people actually want to see for such short periods of time that by the time you’ve seen what’s playing on the board, it’s gone. For example, I noticed that Freakier Friday was playing the other day, and wanted to see it last night, but now there is something else. I don’t know if it’s super expensive to keep these movies in or what, but it is certainly not gaining them business. Their website also only has one week of movies, making it look like they’ll swap to the next movie the next Thursday…but we don’t know what it is to plan ahead. I want to support the local theater, but it’s so hard when I don’t know what’s in/the movies are not the ones I’ve been looking forward to seeing. Additionally, last year when Wicked part 1 came out, we ended up going to Iowa City because it was not going to be in the theater until 1-2 weeks or so after. I really hope that they have Part 2 in sooner and longer. Again, I want to support the local theater- it’s really a nice place. I do support as much as I can…but...

Been coming to this theatre since I was a kid and I’m extremely disappointed with how much it’s declined. The only good things about this theatre are the clean lobby, and a good view of the movie. The popcorn isn’t even good, it’s extremely stale and was cold given to us. The balcony wasn’t even open… The customer service was pretty pathetic. I tried to use chamber of commerce cash and they said that they couldn’t take it unless the total was the exact amount of how much I had in chamber of commerce cash. They said their system couldn’t process it unless it was the exact total. So then why even offer it here…. There’s no way that I’d be able to make my total come out to an exact amount. Probably won’t be coming here anytime again. Marcus theaters will forever be better than this one. Also to add, everything is so ridiculously overpriced. Paid over $40 for 2 tickets, popcorn, a medium drink, and 1 candy. I usually don’t pay more than $30 for all of that at Marcus theaters especially since they have rewards and deals that’s...

Normally i don't post reviews for anything but going to that theater for the first time and experiencing that much annoyance in it was crazy. Sure the theater itself is fine the staff was fine. But one sitting over an hour waiting for a movie to start is ridiculous because they had technical difficulties. Normally you would want to check the technical stuff before hand. Especially when there was literally a WHOLE day to do so since there was only one movie in the evening. So with that happening it pushed all the showings off and when we were going out people were coming in. Not to mention the extreme mess everywhere! no one to clean it up for the next showing! Not to mention i couldn't even hear the movie with people screaming every 5 mins! Sure people can be engaged but thats like a number one rule in theaters stay quiet so everyone can enjoy! Worst theater experience in my life. Im sorry I'm sure you have better times but that...
