Korner Kremery — Restaurant in Washington

Update, came back one day in the first week of august. Ok so I tried a lemon dairy based ice cream and was amazing. I also tried a kind of chocolate ice cream and my complaints are still the same. By the way I went to a kalona creamery in the area had their chocolate ice cream. HOLY COW. THAT was chocolate flavor. Idk what’s going on with the Ashby brand chocolate that Korner Creamery Carrie’s but it’s sad.

Sigh. I swear I’m not out to get Washington. The third place I visit for something amazing and I get something average. I mean at least it wasn’t awful…

I got the gold rush ice cream. Idk what I tasted, but it looked like it had caramel, and maybe vanilla and chocolate. I’m not sure the flavors blended. It tasted sweet. Like just sugar sweet…

The place is cute and the seating outside is nice. Staff is friendly. Price was fine, portions are good, texture of the ice cream was great! Flavor was just a neutral...

I grew up in Washington going to Korner Kreamery. It used to be decorated nicely and was so much fun to go to. Lonnie Milligan owned it and you could tell he had a vision for it. Now I just went last night and the decorations leave a lot to be desired. The trim is falling off the walls. The semi friendly young man working last night had stuff all over his shirt, and kept wiping his nose on his arm. The awnings and outside eating area needs some tlc. Then they have raised their prices to $4 for a scoop of ice cream. That by itself makes it so I will not come back. It would be a way better deal to go to Yotty's in Kalona. There you will have a much better experience and find a great value. It’s is my opinion that ownership/management is raising the price with no vision for the customer’s experience. Wow! This is right out of my childhood! They do ice cream, what McDonald's did to fast food. Nailed it! This little creamery went all in with authentic waffle cones, original flavors, and items that are great! Most of all are all the different options of ice cream and sherbert. The portions are very easy on your wallet, and the service was friendly and prompt. You'll enjoy this opportunity to get something that is extremely good. The food was spectacular!
