HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! TERRIBLE WORK!!!
I usually don't write reviews, or even complain. But, my experience with Mallove's Jewelers in Waterford was absolutely horrendous. I went in, on December 31, to have some charms soldered to a bracelet, and to get a quote on a possible resetting of my engagement ring. I will say that initially, I was pleased with the service, a Rachel helped me out, and then handed me over to a lovely gentleman, who's name I did not get. I was quoted a great price to reset my black diamond, and a fair quote of $5 per charm to be soldered. I was told that my bracelet would be ready that Friday, as they do their work in house. This is the reason I went to them, rather than go to Tiffany's, to have my bracelet sent off, with a 2 week turn around time. There happened to be a snow storm that Friday, so I did not return until the following Monday. When I walked in, and back to the area to pick up my bracelet, I was greeted very rudely by an older woman, (who now I believe to be their receptionist) that scolded me for coming in before getting a call. It had been a few days past my quote time, so I felt it was a safe bet to go in. She then, AGAIN, very rudely told me that with the holiday, and the snow storm, that their jeweler had not gotten to my bracelet, and that she would move it to the front of the work load to get done the next day. I waited until Friday, to call, as I had not heard from them. When I called, I was told that they could not find my bracelet, and they would call me back. I got a phone call about 20 minutes later, and my bracelet was ready, it had gotten misplaced. With my work schedule, I was unable to get into their shop until this evening, January 14, to pick it up. I was in such a hurry, that I did not get a good look at it. Upon arriving home, and giving it a proper inspection, my bracelet is in terrible shape. It is filthy. The rings that were soldered, have knicks all over them. The toggle is covered in the material they used to solder. The hole that the toggle goes into has the material all over it as well. One of my charms has it on the back of it, it is just a MESS! I did a deep cleanse on my bracelet, and it is all still there! I am VERY upset, and will be emailing the owner of the store to let him know about this. It is unacceptable. Because of this, I WILL NOT return to Mallove's, to have any further work done. I could have dealt with the nasty woman, to have quality work done, and at this point, you could not pay me to step foot back...
Read moreWhat an experience I had! I can't begin to tell you how wonderful Ivan, Jimmy and all the staff are. My stone is a family heirloom diamond that I wanted set for my engagement ring. Jimmy spent a ton of time going over the characteristics of my stone and educating me on my diamond, which was wonderful because I knew very little about it (it was inherited upon my grandmother's passing). Originally, I had chosen a cathedral setting that I thought I would like, and unfortunately when it came in I was devastated at how much I disliked the look of my ring. Thankfully (I can't stress this enough), Ivan saved the day, sat down with me, called the company and found me a new setting that I now ADORE. He also did a straight exchange, and didn't charge me any extra for the trouble of taking the diamond out of the first setting and placing it into another. I picked it up Friday and can't stop looking at how beautiful it is! Mallove's cares about customer satisfaction, even though I didn't spend a ton of money with them, they took the time to make sure I was 100% in love with my ring. Ivan, thank you so much for your kindness and sincerity, you made my entire experience memorable and made me feel better about the entire process. If you want a personal touch and very reasonable prices for nice jewelry, please go see the staff at Mallove's...
Read moreFor the ONLY reason you should ABSOLUTELY choose Malloves see the second paragraph below. I went to Malloves in Waterford to pick out an engagement ring for my fiance. I was helped by Ivan and Jim. Needless to say, with one of the hardest decisions a man can make, Malloves not only met every expectation but exceeded it. From start to finish, choosing, appraising, getting the work done on it, and the delivery Malloves was an absolute joy to work with.
Now for the reason that I will continue to choose Malloves and recommend to anyone looking for fine jewelery. My job took me away from CT and sent me down south to Va. Almost three years later, after a simple question to Malloves, they worked with me to get the matched wedding band for my fiance. These guys pulled the information, matched the bands, and did everything short of make the ring because they just needed to make sure the size didn't change. After one quick email back with a size confirmation, I was told the ring would be taken care of and sent. My wedding rings were taken care of from states away. The service that they provide is incredible, which you will never get at a large chain jeweler. On behalf of my soon to be wife and myself, A very large thank you for helping make our day...
