I would love to give Empire South a 5 star, and am truly fair with all of my reviews. The store presentation/merchandising, price points, cleanliness, they are all awesome and definitely 5 Star!
I’ve shopped here atleast 20-30 times. Usually more around the holidays when I get my older kids new Patagonia’s etc. Also I buy my husbands t-shirts and some of his button-ups from them. I like their kids selection too, and I’ve purchased tops & dresses for me here.
They need to be consistent and fair with policies, and better with their client service! I am being generous still giving 4 stars overall (because I really love the store) But this area needs to improve. I have always received great service from the few guys that work here. The ladies that are employed are not consistent. A couple of them are warm and friendly, a couple are just the opposite. I asked to lay things behind the counter during their sidewalk sale, I was told, very curtly, No. I accepted that answer and walked around their store arms loaded. Approximately 30 minutes later, 2-3 other patrons had hold piles behind the counter ( I also verified they in fact made the same request). I’ve been treated by 2-3 of the ladies that they could care less if I was there or not. News flash, you’re supposedly working in a higher middle end clothing store. Help your client! I could list out to this team 5+ high end stores that I have run, very successfully in my former world, Phipps plaza, Lenox, Mall at Millenia in Orlando. It doesn’t matter where you are, you’re not better than your client! Client service guys! I have absolutely been treated very different based on my appearance here. If I’m out on a workday in a dress and fully styled, I get smiles. If I’m hair pulled back, dropping in after I hit the post office, I get no response.
I have never experienced true service here, they simply say hello, and ring you up, and refuse certain things that you request. Owner: the sky is the limit on the success of your store if you truly service your client, I can assure you “we” want full service. Suggestive selling, recommending add on’s, explaining promotions. You guys are losing big...
Read moreI love these little stores! They always have the cutest things here. The staff is usually super helpful and friendly. There was one incident that occurred and that is why I’m only giving it 2 stars. I had a gift card and wanted to just look around because I did not know what I wanted to buy yet. One of the girls working there approached me and asked me if I needed anything, so I thanked her and responded that I was just looking for now. I felt like I was being watched the whole entire time I was there. The girl was overly watching and checking on me and it was uncomfortable to shop. I understand it’s your job to check on me and just watch because of theft, but this was excessive. I decided to look at the pop sockets on the other side of the store and I heard the girl say “Where did she go?” Which made me even more uncomfortable, so I finally grabbed my stuff and checked out. This was the first time I experienced anything like this at the watkinsville location, but stuff like this does not make me...
Read moreI love Empire South and all of the cute finds at this boutique. I personally usually shop at the Watkinsville location but know there’s also an Athens store and I believe one in Hartwell. Not only do they have clothing for men and women, they also have another section of the store with the cutest baby/kid stuff. The second picture included is of my sister and the super soft Lush sweater I recently got her. Such a great shop for gifts, items for...
