This is the most horrible experience I have ever had in my life. This week at Baylor Scott and White hospital in Waxahachie Texas. I stayed at this facility for a week fighting a really bad infection. Please Don’t be deceived by the glamorous look of this hospital it’s glistening like a diamond, but the hospital in its self is a whole dark place! Nurse Management and staff could be far from what the building looks like on the outside. They don’t explain the rules to you and write you up when you accidentally make a mistake, I will never come here again. I am Not bring any of my friends or family to this horrific place. I don’t care if I am dying and I just rather die than come to this hospital. I can not stand the fourth floor manager, Ms. Brenda A. Balderas she’s not fair or honest and she’s one-sided and she’s only for her staff not for the patients or the patient’s family. I am not impressed with Ms. Patty who is a Tech on the 4th floor nor Esther a charger nurse. Most of all the levels of cattiness and messiness that goes on between these nurses on these floors with talking about patient unprofessionally not answering the patient when they call for help. Making patients sit for hours before they are helped and able to use the bathroom. Most of the nurses hang out in the hallway and talk bad about patience where everyone can hear them up and down the hallways is so disgusting and disrespectful. I can’t wait to be discharged from the despicable Hospital. I had to wait for six hours for pain medication then I got in trouble for taking one Tylenol of my own because I felt like I was going to die from pain after my surgery procedure, then I had a nurse take it upon herself to go through my personal belongings taking my pills and ratting me out to her supervisor Brenda only to be written up like I am in high school or something smh !!! Next I had a young nurse to slap me on my hand for turning the pump off because the IV line kept coming out of my arm. This place is a house of horrors that need to be fixed and reevaluated on how they treat people. Please Find a different hospital to go to like UT southwestern, Parkland or Baylor In Dallas. Do yourself a grand favor skip this small little town hospital it’s not worth it. Your loved ones will not be valued nor respected at this facility. You have been warned with love !

I was in the ER last night and I would like to note that the nursing staff was BY FAR the nicest I have ever met. I would like to shout out Nurse Vanessa D and Nurse Hailey, I believe her last name started with an M? She said she was a recent grad from Charleston. Working the night shift in the ER, I can only imagine the things they see and deal with, and it takes a special kind of person to have this be their career and to receive people and care for them when they are at their worst. Nurse Vanessa was so humble and down to earth, I asked her a question about how come the needle in my IV doesn’t poke through my arm, and she took the time to demonstrate to me that there isn’t a needle, it’s just a small soft tube. I thought it was really nice she took the time to do that when I’m sure she was super busy. It shows she is passionate about what she does and cares about patient education. Nurse Hailey was one of the sweetest people I’ve met. She has an amazing bedside manner and her presence when she walks in the room is just warm and fuzzy like sunshine and butterflies. I wish her the best in her career. Dr. Smith was also great. Most doctors are so strict and dry, but he was cool, calm, collected and eager to answer all and any questions. Now, was I there in the ER for a long time? Yes. But, I would like to say to the patients and people who complain about the wait times and such, please remember that the hospital staff are HUMANS too. They’re literally awake overnight on 12hr shifts working to do their best for everyone. Please allow them some grace. I understand that we are probably tired and in pain, but regardless as patients we have to continue to uplift our nurses & doctors & healthcare providers because their job is hard too. Burn out is real and I can only imagine how it must feel to be doing your best for a patient only for them to leave a bad review regarding something as petty as wait time. I’m sure if they were to speed things up then people would complain that they felt their provider was “in a rush” and “not thorough enough.” Please also keep in mind room and staff shortages. In summary, give them some grace people!

5 Stars from me. My father had been in excruciating pain and previously attended to in Medical City Arlington, which he was released and advised to schedule his gallbladder surgery as an outpatient. Sure enough, when he attempted to do so, he was informed they were not able to perform the surgery since he was uninsured and referred him to Parkland. Parkland would not attend to my father because they did not seem the surgery an emergency despite being insured through their plan. Thankfully, Baylor Scott & White of Waxahachie were able to perform the gallbladder surgery on my dad and it went over smoothly! It has been two weeks now and my dad has been recovering wonderfully. Also, the hospital is new and kept in pristine conditions. Love it!

My elderly mom went to the hospital after being found unconscious on the floor. An ambulance took us to the emergency room and it took over two hours for someone to see us.

During our stay, she was designated a fall risk and needed help going to the bathroom but the nurses never answered the call button. My daughter had to call me at home for me to come to the hospital because she was holding down my mom and telling her to just go to the bathroom in her pants because no one ever responded to the call button. When I went to the nurses to complain that no one ever responded - they said that if I needed something from them, I should have pushed the button to let them know instead of walking to the nurses station.

There were at least a half a dozen times no one ever answered the call button at all. We checked to make sure the button was working - and it was. They just don't answer. Because of my mom being a fall risk, there was a buzzer on the bed that would go off if she tried to get up. She would get up and no one would respond to the buzzer so we tried to stay there with her - only going home to shower and come right back.

One time, I tried to call the main hospital number to speak to a floor manager and see if I could get a nurse or a tech to help us because no one would respond to our call - only to be transferred back to the fourth floor again and no one ever picked up the telephone.

My mother was left with her lasagna dinner on her hospital gown until lunch time the next day. It was only changed because we complained. One of the RN's left her slumped over, uncovered, and crying.

The social worker only recommended one place for us to be released to and it didn't offer the medical services that my mom needed and didn't take the form of payment we had. If we had taken her recommendation, we would have been $11,000 out of pocket and needing to make payment plans to cover it.

I am giving two stars only because the doctors were great and ran every test imaginable and offered great assistance. Unfortunately, the incorrect discharge papers were sent to the facility upon release and the doctors there didn't realize she had a terminal illness. It was a day or two after discharge we realized their mistake and had the correct papers sent over.

We were asked by management within one or two hours of being in our room if we were happy with our care and we said yes, because we hadn't received any care yet. I wonder if this is because of potential lawsuits so they have it on record that you said you were happy before dealing with the staff. I later asked if I could speak to the same person to let them know what was happening but they said they didn't know who it was and couldn't find them.

I have pictures of my mom with her filthy clothes and being left slumped over but don't want to humiliate her by publicly posting pictures of the shameful way she was treated. I never, ever leave bad reviews but it's well worth it if this helps the owners or management improve.

I can see the people who post reviews here get the same response - that the reviewers should go somewhere else to post a complaint. This is a perfect example of everything wrong with this hospital - no matter who you talk to or where you complain, they tell you it's not their job and you should tell someone else. These reviews are not about a restaurant where the server took too long or the food was cold, it's only a matter of time until the negligence and apathy of this hospital could cause serious injuries...

Sorry Baylor I hadn't finished writing my review before you replied on my 3 stars... let me clarify.

When Baylor Waxahachie moved to 35 and 287, our family started going to this Hospital. And the last 3 times before this current visit we have had a great experience. However I'm not sure if it is growing pains since they have expanded rapidly or if we just got a bad doctor but this experience was very bad when it comes to her medical care. If this was a hotel we received excellent service and I might have given 5 stars.

My mother went not feeling well, turns out she had pneumonia. She gets an antibiotic, they run some tests.

However as a patient her right to know her care was violated. She was told her hemoglobin count had dropped significantly since she had arrived at the Hospital (which I believe to have been a side effect of the antibiotic and the fluids they were giving her). They ran blood tests every 3-4 hours, she was never informed of the results of those tests. Her goal for the day was to monitor her lab results.

She has had bariatric surgery and is diabetic, yet she was given the ADA 1800 calorie diet. I would have a nutritionist review the effectiveness of that plan giving a diabetic 60 carbs a meal seems a little excessive IMHO. They did not offer a bariatric diet plan.

Her blood sugar levels weren't checked for hours after her arrival, when they were they were naturally very high (294) They gave her only 3 units of insulin. (Didn't ask about her sliding scale, they had their own sliding scale) The doctor didn't give my mom her metformin the last evening we were there because the doctor thought that she might want to do a contrast test (without informing her, she had to ask why she didn't get her medicine.)

She had pneumonia and never received a breathing treatment. The doctor asked how her breathing treatments were going. Even after being informed that she hadn't received any she was sent home, she developed a fever shortly after coming back home.

The staff is as friendly as can be however I think they focus more on being like a hotel than a Hospital. I give it 3 stars only because of the excellent treatment received in the past. However reading some of the reviews from the past few weeks my experience was not unique. I am disappointed that this Hospital has declined in quality. I like the Baylor Healthcare system and would hope that processes will be reevaluated and better procedures put into place.

I feel it part of my responsibility as a member of the community to provide honest feedback not only in the hopes that this Hospital take more seriously the responsibility they have to provide quality care and respect the patients rights to know what is going on with their healthcare but also to inform others of my experience and opinions so that they can make an informed decision on where they choose to send...

I have had multiple surgeries at this hospital and have visited family/friends there. Always great experiences. This review is specifically about the emergency room. I’ve been a few times over the years, and no one EVER seems to be in a hurry about anything. But last night we had to take our 18 month old son to the ER due to difficulty breathing. I was terrified and knew there would be protocols in place for covid, but what we experienced was infuriating. As soon as I walked in there was a lady screening people for symptoms of covid. She took my temp and my son’s and asked standard questions. I was trying to hurry so I could get my son checked in. This woman then asked me to put a mask on my son. A mask on my 18 month old son who was struggling to breathe. I said no and walked away to the desk to check in. (This NEEDS to be stopped. The CDC does NOT recommend a face mask on a child under 2. Not only is it completely ignorant to ask a parent to do this, but it’s also ridiculous that they think a young toddler will even keep it on.) I went to the desk to check in, and of course the woman at the desk was slow and seemed very uncaring. I asked if my husband could come inside. (He was parking the car at the moment.) She coldly said no, only one parent was permitted. My husband then walked in and I saw him and told him he had to wait in the car. I began crying because I was already scared for my son, but now I had to go through this alone. I had to wait for a few minutes. It wasn’t a long wait, but when a baby is struggling to breathe, you’d think they would put a little pep in their step. We finally got to a room and waited for 20 minutes for a doctor to come in. Again, child with labored breathing in the room. The doctor came in, and she was great. She listened and had great bedside manner. She was able to determine very quickly that my son most likely had croup and ordered a steroid for him. I needed to use the restroom so badly, but I was alone with my son. I called the nurse desk and asked for someone to sit with my child so I could run to the restroom. 20 minutes later, a nurse came in and sat with my son. In the end, my son was treated and is doing so much better today. I’m so grateful! However if these protocols need to be in place, the hospital should REALLY hire or schedule extra people to support those who come in and need assistance. In addition the staff working the front desk should be better trained on basic customer service. The woman who got me checked in didn’t seem to care what happened to my child. And most importantly, whoever screens people at the door should NEVER ask or encourage a parent to put a mask over a baby or young toddler or anyone struggling to breathe. Things...
