Dollar General — Local services in Wells

2/22/25 at 6:30 pm I walked into the Wells Store for the first time. I was greeted by a young lady with a smile. I was looking for one item, She asked if she could help me find anything. She told me the isle and asked if i needed direction finding anything else. I didn’t need anything else but the store was so clean, stocked and PERFECT i just had to walk around to ENJOY and see how beautiful the store condition was. Why was I so amazed?????? Let me tell you, I live in New Hampshire and I shop DG when all other options are exhausted. Every Store I go to in NH is filthy and disgusting. NEVER use a NH DG bathroom , Disgusting beyond disgusting , looks like it was cleaned a year ago. As it is the stores are cluttered and the employees do not care. Most often they stand around and talk to each other. I Hope the Wells MAine store passes this review on to who ever is in charge of NH particularly, Tamworth, Moultonboro and Tilton. This store has to be by far the worst dollar general I have EVER been to. The parking lot will be completely full of cars and every single employee (typically just 3 of them, one being the manager.) will be outside smoking cigarettes. No one pays attention to the register the line backs up all while they are smoking together right by the front entrance. Not only that The manager and other females will trash talk customers, and other employees right out front of customers. They are extremely unprofessional and don’t make anyone feel welcome there. They are rude and have attitudes for no reason. I will never shop at this location ever again. And I hope others take their business else where as well. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Well organized and exceptionly clean store. Staff (one could tell) sincerely cared about me as a customer. I observed the same care and honestly friendly attitude put forth to the other customers. I am a retired corporate IT manager and cannot commend the staff and manager of this store more highly....
