I went to Head 2 Toes two days in a row and had two very different experiences, which is why I'm giving a 3/5. The first day I went to get my nails done - they got me in on short notice, which was wonderful - and the nail tech (Nancy) was an absolute gem.
It was my first time getting my nails done and due to a miscommunication error, Nancy didn't have what was needed to extend my (tiny, sad) nails. It became clear about halfway through the appointment that she wasn't going to be able to do what I wanted, but she went above and beyond to make it right. She still did excellent work on the little nails I had and we booked another appointment the following week so she could come in with everything she needed and take care of me. She was so kind, thoughtful, and clearly put a tremendous amount of skill and care into my nails.
I realized the next day I needed a haircut, so rather than go to Fantastic Sam's I figured I'd go back to Head 2 Toes since I'd loved Nancy so much. They were able to get me in same day with Theresa.
The appointment was Theresa was... not great. She was nice, however she was extremely rough with my hair and it seemed like she was in a huge hurry. She had a teenager there with her that she was asking about hair colors, so I'm not sure if she was trying to squeeze a friend/family member in or if she was just busy.
After shampooing my hair she commented that I was losing a lot of hair. I told her that yes, my hair was thinning due to a surgery I'd had. This led to a pleasant conversation, but what it did not lead to was Theresa ceasing to yank my hair around like it was cemented into my head.
When she started to cut my hair Theresa also cut me (a very small cut). She stated it was the first time that had ever happened - consequently, it's the first time it's ever happened to me at a hair appointment too. She asked if I was alright and I said yes. Since she kept calling it a pinch I assumed it was not bleeding, but the second or third time she asked if I was okay I told her; "It's alright, as long as I'm not bleeding." I couldn't see without my glasses (I told her this early on), but she didn't respond and instead rubbed the spot a little bit with her bare hands. I discovered after I walked out and took a look at my face that I had been bleeding and that she literally rubbed an open cut on my face with her bare hands. I'm sorry but that's disgusting - I guess I'm glad she trusted me, but she had no idea what sort of health problems I could have had. I just hope she washed her hands after the appointment, but given that she didn't even sweep around her chair before I sat down I really doubt it. She should have grabbed an alcohol wipe and a band-aid with my consent.
She blamed her scissors for not being sharp, then also told me if they were any sharper she would be cutting herself as well (accidentally). I've never met a hair stylist who DIDN'T want sharp scissors.
I'd asked Theresa to even out my hair because it had been cut asymmetrically in the past. The cut she gave me was mediocre and had the appointment gone a little differently I probably would give her the benefit of the doubt and say it just needed to be short to accomplish that but at this point I'm not really sure. But you can't do much to fix a short haircut so it's not as though I could ask her to do anything else.
I left quickly because at that point I was already feeling awkward and a bit unhappy - so it's worth noting I didn't complain while I was there. However, the final straw was when I got home to wash my hair and Theresa hadn't even cut my hair symmetrically in front. One side had about a centimeter of hair that was longer than the other side.
Overall, if you are coming here to get your nails - DO IT. Make sure you book with Nancy. If you are coming to get your hair cut however, do not book...

Read moreSpoke with someone on the phone. First time customer. Inquired for their services and requested for a Sunday appointment as I have two very young children close in age and my husband works M-F an hour away. With a Christmas party this Saturday, I unfortunately didn’t have availability. So I figured to ask about Sunday. I guess their salon isn’t open on Sundays. However, the person on the phone was not very customer service friendly, short and came off rude. Seemed like she’d rather get off the phone ASAP, rather than gain clientele. Growing up, salons were always open on the weekends. Even if it was shorter staff on Sundays. There’s a way to speak to a customer, even if you don’t offer that availability. So instead of giving this salon my business, I’m taking my children and myself elsewhere, where we actually feel wanted and a place where I am happy to...
