On the evening of today, I attempted to make a purchase at Temptations, located at 9800 W Greenfield Ave, at approximately 7:45 PM. Upon entering the establishment, I noticed an absence of clear signage regarding the entry procedure. I approached the front desk, where two female staff members requested to see my ID. I complied, stating, "Certainly, may I also purchase an item from your front counter case at the same time?" The staff members responded, "This is not how that works."

I subsequently retrieved my ID and placed it on the counter adjacent to the second staff member, while I examined the items in the front counter case. Both staff members refused to accept my ID in this manner and insisted that I hand it directly to one of them, which I ultimately did. Feeling perplexed by the situation, I sought clarification regarding the store's procedures, explaining that I was unaware of the proper protocol for entering the store. One staff member informed me that there was a designated area in which I was required to stand while the scanning process was completed, specifically indicating the location of a metal detector. I asked her where was the posting stating that, which she failed to provide.

I inquired how I could have known about this requirement without any posted guidelines. In response, she refused me service and labeled me as "ignorant" of the rules. I expressed that referencing the term "ignorant" toward a customer was not an appropriate. She countered by suggesting that I was unfamiliar with the definition of the term. I articulated that insulting my intelligence was equally unkind. At that point, she threatened to involve law enforcement.

I immediately requested the contact information for a supervisor, manager, or owner to review the surveillance footage of this incident. Both employees declined to provide this information. Subsequently, one staff member claimed to have contacted her manager in the back office of the store. Without allowing me the opportunity to present my side of the story or conducting a thorough investigation of the matter through video evidence, they reportedly conveyed that their staff members were validated in their actions and recommended that the non-emergency police be contacted. I indicated that such measures were unnecessary and that I could leave without further issue.

Throughout this exchange, I remained composed and did not raise my voice or use inappropriate language. It was disheartening to witness such an excessive response for a situation involving the placement of my ID on the counter. The level of customer service I experienced was exceedingly disappointing. There appeared to be an inclination among the staff to escalate the situation rather than accept my ID and purchase. I can only hope this experience does not reflect the broader standards of management within the establishment. The owner of Temptations consequently lost a transaction of $100 that I had intended to spend.

In conclusion, it is essential for customers to be aware of the unwritten rules when shopping at this establishment. Patrons are required to stand in a designated area and must hand the ID to the staff using their right hand, which should be received in the staff’s left hand. Kindly placing an ID on the counter directly in front of the staff's reach may result in unnecessary interventions from law enforcement, according to their reported practices. Furthermore, I would like to clarify that I did not navigate throughout the entire store; rather, I remained at the front counters for the duration of my visit. I also complied with providing my ID, which the staff could have simply took it from the counter. It is my recommendation that the two staff members involved undergo customer service training to enhance their professionalism. This serves as a cautionary note for other consumers who wish to conduct business at this location. I sincerely hope that others do not encounter the same unprofessional rude experience that I did...

I have visited this store quite often since I first heard of it, however I have some concerns. for the past two years I have bought several $9.99 dvds from temptations only to go home and find they won't play at all on my DVD player or they skip every few minutes.

Now I understand you have a return policy on your DVDs but you should by NO means be selling DVDs that don't play or have scratches on them already!

I haven't had this problem with super video 2 in cudahy, their DVDs work well EVERYTIME. temptations needs to talk to their supplier and make sure that whatever they're putting on that $9.99 shelf as new actually works like new.

I feel super video 2 puts out quality and temptations puts out quantity. since you changed your name you've become a JR news and Libra books type of adult store. please tell your DVD suppliers to stop sending you movies that don't...

This store MUST make so much $$ that they blow away customers. DONT RECOMMEND IT. I was trying it for the first time and before even stepping into the store I was approached outside in the lot by an employee who was slightly rude and demanded I move my car. She wanted me to move it because I accidentally parked over the handicap space ,which by the way I couldn’t even really notice it because the parking lines were not as visible because of the winter salt. I don’t have a problem moving it’s just the way she was with her attitude. I work in emergency CS all day and she was not professional ,I’m sure I have worst days than her. Sadly I was not able to go in and spend all the money I was planning on. I wanted to get many things for an event. Lost my business. Ordering online from another place that definitely won’t complain and cry about...
