$10.99 → $18.98 for the same pho. I’m not even mad — I’m insulted.
Left: My receipt from today. Right: The old menu from two years ago. Same item. Nothing changed but the price and ownership.
I’ve been eating at Pho Saigon since I was a kid. This place used to be legit; affordable, reliable, and a comfort spot for anyone who grew up in the area. I always ordered the P2 Pho Combo. It was $10.99 for years. Now it’s $15.99, and to make it worse, if you order takeout, they automatically give you a large and slap on another $2.99 without asking. No medium option, no disclosure, just extra charges like no one will notice.
So yeah $18.98 before tax for a single bowl of pho.
When I said “this is crazy expensive,” the guy (pretty sure it was the owner) tried to justify it with, “Well gas is $4 and eggs are still $8, Cali is way more expensive to live in so I should be grateful??? (Yes he said that).” That’s when I knew they lost the plot. This isn’t a gas station or a grocery store nor are we in California. It’s soup. And nothing about this experience is worth twenty damn dollars.
Let’s call it what it is: a cash grab. I’ve watched the price slowly creep up over the years — $10.99, $12.99, $13.99, $14.99 — and instead of reprinting menus, they just tape over the old prices like no one’s paying attention. Spoiler: we are.
This isn’t inflation anymore. It’s disrespect. Disrespect to long-time customers. Disrespect to the community that kept you in business. Disrespect to anyone who values transparency and basic customer service.
I’ve supported this place for over a decade. But I’m not about to be guilt-tripped into paying fine dining prices for a takeout bowl of pho. You raised the price, removed options, and gave a BS excuse when someone questioned it. That’s not how you treat loyal customers.
I’m done. And based on the other reviews I’ve seen lately?...

Read moreI used to be a loyal customer, visiting this restaurant almost weekly during these last few months, but after my experience on 11/21 with the management, I won’t be returning or spending another dime here—not even on takeout.
I came in to grab some steak pho, but what should have been a quick, pleasant visit turned into an upsetting encounter. While adding Sriracha to my soup, the bottle's cap, which was previously loosened at the base, fell into my bowl. I politely asked the manager if they could replace it, but she refused, insisting it was my fault. Another staff member echoed her sentiment, leaving me shocked by their lack of customer service.
I tried reasoning with the manager, suggesting they either replace my meal or remove it from my bill. Instead, she showed me a video of the incident to prove her point, rudely blaming me and refusing to accommodate my request. She demanded I pay the full price, disregarding my concerns entirely. After being spoken to disrespectfully and ignored for 10 minutes, I decided to pay half the bill just to leave peacefully without disrupting other diners because it really wasn't that much money.
This experience was deeply disappointing, especially as someone who has consistently supported this restaurant. I had previously recommended it to others and even featured it on my food content platform, Marina Tries $H!t. Unfortunately, I now regret that endorsement.
With treatment like this, it’s no surprise the restaurant is often empty. Customer service is key, and sadly, this management seems to have forgotten that. My friends and I will no longer be supporting this establishment, and I encourage others to consider my experience before choosing...
