Best Vietnamese spot in the Milwaukee area! Was craving Pho & found this GEM 💎 🥺 📍 West Allis, WI ______________________ We went to Milwaukee to see my friend in Milwaukee ballet And I was craving Phở and Vietnamese Food 😭 Luckily most Vietnamese people around the area say this is their favorite spot ‼️ Even when we walked in , half the restaurant was filled with Vietnamese customers.🙀 I can understand why 😊 It's no fuss, great broth, amazing flavor, with all the essential dishes in a decent menu Walked right in on Christmas eve at 12pm and got a spot 👍 ___________________________ We got the: ☕ Vietnamese drip coffee 越南咖啡 $6 (must get, super rich) 🍜 Phở combo 越南粉 $14: brisket, eye round steak, tendon, beef balls 🍜 Bún Bò Huế 辣牛肉米線 $15(spicy beef & pork rice noodles). I got this dish because the Vietnamese guy next to us got it 😂 it was my first time and I Loved it! Super rich, might be my go-to next time Includes: pork trotter, pork blood cakes, & Viet sausage I want to also try their "grandfather spicy chicken wings" next time _______________ Other dishes they have: - Phở : beef, chicken, seafood, shrimp, noodle only or +$2 for large or +$4 extra toppings - Vermicelli $14-$16 : grilled, beef, shrimp, pork, lemongrass beef - Banh mi $11 foot long or $6 half - Salads $15: papaya, beef, lotus root, cow skin - Skillets & stir fried $16 including lobster MP - Rice dishes $15 crispy chicken, beef, even galbi, or fried rice - Smoothies $8: avocado milkshake - Bubble tea $7.5+$1 toppings Thai tea, lychee or peach, taro & normal milk tea - Beers $5 tsingtao, singha & others - Appetizers $7 rolls or $8 fried items like crab Rangoon - Fried wings, calamari, or dumplings $11 📍 Pho Saigon Milwaukee 10534 W Greenfield Ave, West Allis WI 53214

The service was fast. Food was served almost immediately as it was ordered. Pho was good but not exceptional. Ordered it with extra meat and got a great amount. BBQ pork sandwich was heavy on the BBQ. I was expecting thin sliced BBQ meat and not the marinated pork stuffed into a sandwich. The veggies in it were not soaked in the sauce long enough so they were more for show than anything. Still tasted good. But I've had better. Bread was great though. Spring rolls did not have the pork in them. They were also smaller than at other pho restaurants in the area. Peanut sauce was good and uniquely flavored. Pork chop served with egg. Pretty good. Again, the veggies were not marinated or anything so had no flavor to them. For the same price at other Vietnamese restaurants, they included sausage and shrimp. This was just egg and pork. Would recommend giving it a try if you're in the area. But there are better pho places for value in the Milwaukee area. Service is excellent tho. Water always refilled and fast. Clean environment.

After my oldest daughter returned from Vietnam earlier this year, we were excited to try Vietnamese food. We decided on Pho Saigon and we weren't disappointed. The service was fast and courteous. We never had to ask for refills on beverages as they were on top of it. The food was excellent overall. We started with the Shrimp Tempura. Tempura was nice and crunchy, but the shrimp seemed to get lost. We also ordered the Chicken Pho, the Brisket Pho, and a Pork Banh Mi (sub sandwich). My daughter said the Pho was just like she had in Vietnam. It had good flavor and I loved how you were able to adjust for your specific tastes. Only thing I added was a little chili sauce for a touch of heat. My daughters added lime to theirs. My Daughter stated the Banh Mi was close, but the bread didn't seem quite right or as good as she had in Vietnam. The portion sizes were great for the price and we all left with leftovers... which were devoured for dinner. Will definitely eat here again!

$10.99 → $18.98 for the same pho. I’m not even mad — I’m insulted.

Left: My receipt from today. Right: The old menu from two years ago. Same item. Nothing changed but the price and ownership.

I’ve been eating at Pho Saigon since I was a kid. This place used to be legit; affordable, reliable, and a comfort spot for anyone who grew up in the area. I always ordered the P2 Pho Combo. It was $10.99 for years. Now it’s $15.99, and to make it worse, if you order takeout, they automatically give you a large and slap on another $2.99 without asking. No medium option, no disclosure, just extra charges like no one will notice.

So yeah $18.98 before tax for a single bowl of pho.

When I said “this is crazy expensive,” the guy (pretty sure it was the owner) tried to justify it with, “Well gas is $4 and eggs are still $8, Cali is way more expensive to live in so I should be grateful??? (Yes he said that).” That’s when I knew they lost the plot. This isn’t a gas station or a grocery store nor are we in California. It’s soup. And nothing about this experience is worth twenty damn dollars.

Let’s call it what it is: a cash grab. I’ve watched the price slowly creep up over the years — $10.99, $12.99, $13.99, $14.99 — and instead of reprinting menus, they just tape over the old prices like no one’s paying attention. Spoiler: we are.

This isn’t inflation anymore. It’s disrespect. Disrespect to long-time customers. Disrespect to the community that kept you in business. Disrespect to anyone who values transparency and basic customer service.

I’ve supported this place for over a decade. But I’m not about to be guilt-tripped into paying fine dining prices for a takeout bowl of pho. You raised the price, removed options, and gave a BS excuse when someone questioned it. That’s not how you treat loyal customers.

I’m done. And based on the other reviews I’ve seen lately?...

I used to be a loyal customer, visiting this restaurant almost weekly during these last few months, but after my experience on 11/21 with the management, I won’t be returning or spending another dime here—not even on takeout.

I came in to grab some steak pho, but what should have been a quick, pleasant visit turned into an upsetting encounter. While adding Sriracha to my soup, the bottle's cap, which was previously loosened at the base, fell into my bowl. I politely asked the manager if they could replace it, but she refused, insisting it was my fault. Another staff member echoed her sentiment, leaving me shocked by their lack of customer service.

I tried reasoning with the manager, suggesting they either replace my meal or remove it from my bill. Instead, she showed me a video of the incident to prove her point, rudely blaming me and refusing to accommodate my request. She demanded I pay the full price, disregarding my concerns entirely. After being spoken to disrespectfully and ignored for 10 minutes, I decided to pay half the bill just to leave peacefully without disrupting other diners because it really wasn't that much money.

This experience was deeply disappointing, especially as someone who has consistently supported this restaurant. I had previously recommended it to others and even featured it on my food content platform, Marina Tries $H!t. Unfortunately, I now regret that endorsement.

With treatment like this, it’s no surprise the restaurant is often empty. Customer service is key, and sadly, this management seems to have forgotten that. My friends and I will no longer be supporting this establishment, and I encourage others to consider my experience before choosing...
