DO NOT go to Carl's for ANY car audio installation service! They ordered the wrong steering wheel control unit for my vehicle (said my car was on the compatibility list for the adapter then said it wasn't compatible because they could not do the technical work). They failed to disconnect the battery when attempting to install the dash kit and steering wheel control adapter as the installation instructions adamantly advise doing. The installation instructions clearly state that the battery must be disconnect for installation to 'do the job right' or damage could be done to the HVAC controls or air bag sensor in the dashboard. Carl the owner told me that the manufacturer's instructions to disconnect the battery did not have to be adhered to by his shop. By not following the manufacturer's installation instructions damage was done to my car's computer communication system. This has caused the passenger seat air bag sensor to fail, the dashboard lights to flicker and the car to stall out in traffic! Carl's Stereo Plus Pickups (or Carl's Stereo on Wheels?!) damaged my car's computer communication device during their failed installation attempt. The owner, Carl, was very loud and rude and refused to be accountable for the damage done to my vehicle. Steer clear of Carl's Stereo on Wheels, (Carl's Stereo Plus Pickups?!) if you want accountable, professional service. Carl's claims to be a professional car audio installer, however they have permanently damaged my vehicle with their failed installation attempt of an after market car stereo in my car. They take no responsibility for their service failure and claim it is my car's problem, because it has a base trim package. My Nissan Murano, was a great vehicle until Carl's tampered with the car's computer system and failed in installing an after market car audio system requiring a dashboard kit and a steering wheel adapter. DO NOT GO TO CARL'S for Car Audio installations or upgrades!! They will damage your car and then not be accountable for the damage they do, saying it is your car's option package fault. He offered to reset the computer system by touching the positive and negative battery cables together! After I arrived and was waiting in the waiting room for about 20 minutes they come to me and tell me the parts haven't come in yet. I said alright and they told me to come back Friday. Which i did and they still didn't have the part I decided to leave my car there because they told me it would be there on Saturday. I called on Saturday to ask when it would be ready and they said the PART STILL HASN'T COME IN YET. They said they would take care of the labor for me($80), and have me just pay for the parts which i was completely satisfied with. I come to pick up my car on Monday and the Radio was very well installed and looked great! When i come into pay they have no clue what Im talking about when i told them the guy i talked to on the phone told me the labor would have been taken care of. So therefore i got charged $30 in parts and $50 In labor. Read moreI went here to get a new truck cover for my rear bed. Since they had the truck, I asked if they could replace the hinges on my tailgate? They indicated that it would not be a problem. On a positive note, the people I interacted with were all very pleasant and they did a great job on the cover installation. My problem starts with the hinges. When they took the truck, although the hinges needed replacing, they worked and the tailgate closed just fine. When I got it back, they only replaced a part of the hinge assembly, and the tailgate no longer closed smoothly. Upon closer inspection, I found that they also stripped the screws hold the brackets. My biggest issue is that they let me leave without indicating any issues, I had to discover it as I began to use the tailgate. I took it back and they blamed everything on rust and suggested that I go buy the correct parts at the dealer and bring back to them. They offered only to refund the part cost but not the labor.
