I have been living next to this Northgate for as long as I remember. My parents moved here over 15 years ago. We always came for little things like vegetables or premade salsa. Every single time I’ve came, I’ve felt ostracized. They make it clear they prefer helping their own rather than helping just any guest that shops in their market. They make it feel like a racial thing. It’s extremely weird considering you’re going there to give them business… the customer service should extend to EVERYONE not just who you feel is worthy.
Today I tried getting some premade guac. I noticed the couple in front of me didn’t have a ticket and were able to make their order with the employee behind the counter. Those employees saw me waiting the same as these guests. However when it came to my turn, the salsa lady looked right past me and told me since I don’t have a ticket she can’t help me. Meaning she wants me specifically to get a ticket and essentially wait at the back of the line if I want to order anything, as the queue has already started after me. She wouldn’t make an exception knowing that I had been waiting the longest. She felt it was the law that i had to get a ticket and wait until she’s finished with everyone else that came AFTER me. Before she would start packing anything i picked. I felt as if she waited until it was my turn to tell me I needed a ticket in order to get anything. She saw me since the beginning, standing and waiting there, she could’ve easily told me then. I feel like she also had this smug attitude towards the entire thing as if she was on a power trip. All she was doing was packing premade food. Try me again because next time I’m not going to just put my basket down and just walk away. I will be the bad person and I won’t be so nice. Work on your customer service. Work on wanting to receive business from all...
Read moreI needed a few items from the meat department. I’m the only one there so I decided not to get a number. As I stand there, there is this guy who is cleaning the countertops, looks at me and then ignores me. I decided to get a number. Thinking maybe he thinks I didn’t need assistance. After I pick up a number, he continues to clean the countertop and ignores me. After about five minutes, I asked if he can help. He said “ oh let me get someone else to help you”. As he leaves, a guy with his chest showing and wearing sunglasses ( it’s 9pm) walks by also ignores me. When the first guy comes back. He asked the guy with the sun glasses if he can help me. I asked for a type of meat and said nope we don’t have any sorry. I asked if they had some in the back and he said no. What type of customer service does Northgate provide. You’re dealing with food and his chest with chest hair is exposed. worse...
Read moreI love visiting this place because it’s so convenient and close to my home. They truly have everything you need! One of my favorite things about this spot is their section for fresh items—salsas, cold salads, hot meals, aguachiles—they prepare it all, and it’s always fresh and delicious.
The store is very clean and well-organized, which makes shopping here a pleasant experience. I also appreciate the fresh tortillas and pan, which are a must-try!
My only suggestion would be for them to hire additional staff, especially in the deli or behind the counter. While the quality is great, you often have to wait quite a bit for fresh meats, prepared foods, or hot meals. Adding more cashiers and support staff would make the experience even better.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place, and I’ll keep...
