Whatever you do, DO NOT get skates sharpened here. We usually go to certain guys at Iceworks or Pure Hockey. But my son had a game here and so I decided to just get them sharpened at the Iceline pro shop. Big mistake! My son could not even skate they messed up his blades so badly. So badly, in fact, he had to come off the ice and we went back down to pro shop to get have them fix them. The Iceline Pro Shop employees insisted they did nothing wrong - basically saying my son just isn’t accustomed to sharp skates. Seriously?!? He has been playing hockey for four years now. I said, “He just played the other night and he was fine. I bring them here to be sharpened and now he can not skate at all in them!” To which the skate sharpening employee snidely replied, “Well then if they were fine, why did you bring them in to be sharpened?” The skates needed a routine sharpening and instead we were left with blades that were completely unusable. They attempted to “fix” the skates at my insistence and they made them somewhat better; however, the skates were still so badly messed up that my son ended falling a ton in the game and ended up on a concussion watch. So, he missed the first half of the game and then had to leave the game early, injured, all because the pro shop employees have no idea how to sharpen skates. The most upsetting was how patronizing and condescending they were when asked to fix their mistake. This is the second time they have completely messed up my son’s skates. The first time, we caught it because we checked the skates before my son went on the ice, noticed iceline did an awful job and took them to a person who knew what he was doing and he fixed it. I thought maybe that was just a one-off situation. However, this is the second time they so badly messed up the skates that they couldn’t be skated on. And, this time, my son ended up missing the first half of game (which we spent at the pro shop trying to get the blades fixed) and then the end of the game when he was injured due to their poor sharpening. When I got home, my husband and I checked the skates with our skate edge checker tool and the edges are way off. My husband said no one could have skated on those, the edges are so far off. Be warned, Iceline pro-shop is very unprofessional and the employees have no idea how...
Read moreWe've come here three years in a row for the Silver Sticks regional tournament. It has always been a good experience.
With such a huge facility and the number of rinks they have, they are essentially a hockey tournament machine. They have tournaments going on all the time. The parking lot is large to accommodate the players coming and going. The facility inside is pretty clean and well maintained.
There are a few food vendors scattered throughout the complex to make it easier to get food without having to trek through the whole place to get to just one. The food is the usual rink fair...pretzels, hotdog, chiros, soda and coffee for the sleep deprived parents that are driving their kids to and from the rink.
During tournaments, it can get a little crowded in the center lobby where the main concession stand it....but that's usually after games are over when parents are waiting to pick their kids up to head out. But they tournament coordinator run things well with scheduling it's not like every team entered in the tournament is there at once.
Great facility, they know what their doing and...
Read moreI've had issues at the pro shop twice now getting my skates sharpened, and I won't be back. Once is a mistake, and twice is a pattern. On two separate occasions, I've had teenage workers at the pro shop sharpen my skates, and on both of these occasions, I've had to get them redone.
It appeared to me that the workers in the pro shop were more interested in conversing with one another about whatever than in helping the customers, and there was certainly no quality control after the sharpening.
Had I not gotten my skates sharpened, I would have been in better shape, I had to get off the ice for my 6 am pickup game because there was absolutely no edge on my right skate and I fell every time I turned. If you do go to the pro shop, make sure there is an adult working there or you may have the...
