I visited this Walmart location last week to buy a fan andban air conditioner and some other stuff. I went also went into the Garden Center looking for some flowering annuals. Almost every plant they had outside was dying and the entire Garden Center reeked of cigarette smoke as if someone was smoking inside. When I walked back outside I saw that it was an actual Walmart employee standing next to the door puffing away and all his smoke was being blown back into the Garden Center. I honestly don't know why this is allowed by Walmart. Second hand smoke is no joke! I'm allergic to it and I don't think it's right that I should have to use my inhaler because some lazy Walmart employee can't walk far enough away to ensure his smoke doesn't affect customers. It's literal poison in the air that you cannot escape. This also happens at my local grocery store. If you are dumb enough to poison your own lungs and body with a known carcinogen, at least do it where it's not going to affect other people and children.
Also, every single box in the AC and fan department was turned to the Spanish side. EVERY ONE! Obviously the person stocking them speaks Spanish. That would be fine in a Mexico Walmart but we are in Connecticut, USA. The predominant language here is not Spanish, it is English. I will never understand why Walmart (and other businesses) hire these people who can't speak English. If you ask an associate for help, they say they don't speak English. Apparently they can't read it either and refuse to acknowledge we are in the USA where we speak English. I needed an AC unit but I couldn't lift one of the heavy boxes to spin it around to the English side and the associates didn't speak English. This is not about being racist, I married a Mexican man and we have a biracial daughter. But it's sad I had to bring him to the Danbury location (which has the same problem with Associates who don't speak English) so he could talk to someone abt which unit we needed. I think if you expect to get a job with an American company, you should have to learn English. I mean, I wouldn't move to Mexico or Spain and expect everyone around me to...
Read moreI shop at this store like every week . I like to go early in the morning. Because, you get a better selection and no crowds. There is a young light skinned African American man .With a afro and stocky build. Who is just plain rude. And has zero customer service etiquette .
The first time I got in his line. After shopping to check out. I said hello how's your day going. He said nothing in response. Just started ringing my groceries.
The second time . I was buying some video games for my nephews birthday. However, they had sensors still on them. This time I was in self checkout. Which I never use. I asked him can he please remove them. He snatched them out of my hand and sucked his teeth. Upon returning them. He said nothing . Just layed them on self check out rack. And walked away.
The third time . Which was about 6:25 AM this morning. I was using self check out. I had 87 dollars worth of food. And a bottle of dish soap . Which was a dollar. I payed for the food with my snap card. I then tried to pay for the dish soap with cash. I didn't see anywhere to put the money. Now., he is leaning on a self check out register. Two registers away from me . I said sir I need help. He mumbled under his breath. I said sorry I can't hear you. I asked him three times and still couldn't hear him. There was a middle aged asian or indonation. woman. Who came over and helped me. She said ma'am.This register is card only. I apologized , for my mistake. It was literally the second or third time. I have ever used self check. I am in my mid 50's . And I don't see all that well. She showed me which register I can use. Mind you, he never moved from leaning on the register. As I was ringing out the dish soap out. See walk over to him. Taps him on the shoulder. And they both started giggling at me. This is unacceptable. That your staff would treat a customer this way. That is just asking for help. That is why they are there. To help and assist customer's. And not to lean on furniture for 8 hours. And be rude to loyal...
