EDIT 12/16/20 I received a call early Wednesday morning, 12/16/20, from Lauren at Westlake Hills Dental Arts. She was incredibly apologetic and explained that they had been having some issues with their scheduling systems and, unfortunately, I was just a casualty of the overlapping of that system's problems.
She also took the time to move around what she could and fit me in for my appointment today, 12/16, when I was originally scheduled to visit. I was extremely grateful for all the effort she, and the rest of the staff put in to make that happen.
When I arrived at the appointment everyone greeted me warmly, I was taken back immediately and Kristina began working on my teeth. Once my cleaning was done, I met with Dr. Long to review my x-rays and discussed next steps.
Even though I knew that they had squeezed me in to, what I can only imagine, was an extremely busy day, I never felt rushed or hurried along. Everyone I dealt, or even passed in the hallway, took their time to introduce themselves to me, showed respect and took their time working with me, answering any questions I had and explaining what they had found on the x-rays or during the exam and made sure I completely understood.
I was extremely happy that I gave Westlake Hills Dental Arts a second chance and I will continue to use them as my dentist from now on!
Original Post I called to make an appointment several weeks out for a basic cleaning. Everything went smoothly and the appointment was scheduled.
A week or two later I got a call saying there was more information I needed to provide (I wasn't told this in my initial call), but no problem at all. Unfortunately I am currently in the busiest time of my year and working 60-70 hours of week.
This makes if very difficult to both answer the phone during business hours (when they call) , as well as call back before their offices are closed. I did receive a second call the week before my appointment but, again, I was in a meeting and then was working until 11-12 o'clock that night, so I was not able to return the call during the time anyone was in office. After that second call I did call at a later date, later in the night and got their out of office voicemail. I left a message stating who I was, that I was sorry I had been busy the two times they had called and hadn't had the ability to return their calls within working hours. I received a call back the night before my appointment saying they had cancelled my appointment since they hadn't heard back from me. In order to re-schedule the only option was one 7 am appt a . Unfortunately that was on a day I had an 8am meeting with my DVice president so I was unable to make that work.
I completely understand that they needed more information, that's not a problem at all, and I would have happily given it to them. However, nowhere in the call to schedule the appoint initially was I told they needed any more information. Nowhere in either of the two follow-up calls was I told that if they didn't hear back from me that they would cancel my appointment and offer the spot to someone else. They simply just canceled my appointment and gave it to another client with no notice that mine had been cancelled and replaced with a different client.
I feel it's common courtesy to at least give a warning that if a phone call isn't returned that would cause a forfeit of my scheduled and confirmed appointment before someone else is allowed to take my confirmed appointment I'd had schedule for weeks. When scheduling any sort of appointment or one-on-one meeting, or multiple...
Read moreI have been coming to Westlake Hills Dental for three years now. There were personnel changes with Dr. Jones' retirement but the front office remains to be efficient and friendly. It's important to me that the dental office doesn't make me wait. Christina my hygienist, Dr. Long and my Periodontist have collaborated closely to devise a plan to treat my gingivitis. Christina had done an incredible job on the deep scaling and root planing services but eventually I needed "flap surgery" with Dr. Long's referral. Dr. Long was the most patient and explained my condition in detail and easy to understand language. She is warm and make me feel at ease. I love and trust this dental practice and would recommend them without reservation.
5/29/2025 updated with current review: Dr. Long and her team are simply the best in quality care and customer service. My latest experience... when I severely injured my tooth in a fall in June 2024, Dr. Long was incredibly thorough and explored all possible avenues to save it. Although we ultimately had to proceed with extraction due to infection, the entire year-long process with specialists' coordination - from examination, treatment planning, extraction, implant and crown placement - was handled with exceptional care. What truly sets this practice apart is the compassionate care; I never felt alone as their office director Kathy was consistently checking in on me and provided much-needed emotional support. Beyond the super clinical excellence, Kathy's genuine emotional support made a profound difference during a challenging time. Their blend of professionalism and empathy is truly remarkable. I am very grateful for their...
Read moreWestlake Hills Dental Arts/Rebecca Long DDS has become my new dentist. My husband, 2 daughters and son in law (who are all picky people) are patients of Dr Longs. I had an emergency with 2 broken teeth! Dr Long saw me the next morning without being an established patient! I was very impressed that she came in early to treat my painful teeth. Her in office dental lab made the 2 permanent crowns during the same visit. This saved me an office visit because there was no need to first receive temporary crowns. I was very impressed with this streamlined process. I had no pain during this difficult procedure and the time flew by. I even inquired if I should consider dental implants and she respectfully informed me that she would not recommend them for me. I was very impressed with her honesty! Dr Long & all the staff I met were both professional and friendly. The office is extremely clean & comfortable. Staff very courteous & friendly. Easy parking with a good location. As a side note: My internal medicine physician from Westlake ADC even told me great things about Dr Long because he is a patient. I was so happy to walk out with the permanent crowns from one visit and no pain. As a Registered Nurse & a person with an autoimmune disease, I am very particular about my healthcare providers & I had an excellent experience with Westlake Hills...
