Dollar General — Local services in West Memphis

My experience here was lacking good, professional customer service. I went inside to purchase clearanced items and a few other goods. Clearance shelves had regularly priced items on it. I used the DG app to check prices. I went to check out. The employee scanned a few of the Halloween items I had, stopped, started texting on the phone. He scanned a couple of more items and got on the phone again this time it was to make a few calls to other Dollar Generals. He said pull your Halloween stuff penny shoppers are out. Wow. Three customers were waiting behind me. I put my phone number in to get a digital coupon off for gum I was buying. Then I gave two manufacturer's coupon for the two toothpaste I was buying. He scanned it and put in his coupon slot in the register. He said let me see the toothpaste. I searched the bags, found it gave it to him. He searched the monitor screen then told me you bought the $1 3D white toothpaste and your coupon is for $2 off. I said ok. I expected him to let me go get the one he wanted me to have or take off the toothpaste and give me my coupons back. I heard mumbling so it was unclear. I paid for the items, got my receipt, and heard more mumbling as I left. I am a regular shopper of Dollar General Store. I expected respect and just decent...

I guess I must need to update myself to today's types of employees...? Customer service must be a thing of the past....! I'm standing in an, already long line, and there is only one register open!!! And the cashier is holding a conversation with a customer that is in front of me.... An extended conversation!!! No regard for the rest of us in line...! Then finally another cashier comes up and gets on the other register, and motions for her friend to come over to her side to check out.... Wow!!! She waited till she was done with her before she calls out that she is now open on her register....! Really!!!!! No consideration AT ALL for the rest of us who I am sure wanting to hurry up and go on with our day too!!!!! Is this type of customer service now the norm???? I refuse to...

This store is a mess, every time I go in. I literally, drive across town because the other Dollar General, although not in the "good" part of town, is much cleaner and organized and the employees dont look as dirty. Either move to a new location, close for good, or clean up. 1 of the 3 should as soon as possible. Also, whenever I decide to stay and go ahead with my purchase, there is always a 15 to 20 minute wait no matter how many customers you have. FYI, it's right around the corner from where I live, less than 1 minute...
