Are you serious?!! Google map is giving me the opportunity to review this damn parking lot??!!! Where do I start? Any guide and bus drive hate this parking lot! We hate it!!! It's always crazily full! We get it, its the 3rd largest hot springs in the world and its breath taking so its crowded. But why Yellowstone national park just won't put in any effort to regulate this hell place is almost laughable. All these year we been bringing in people here I only see park ranger here once. Maybe they know they cant deal with it. We see more conflict between drivers and all size of vehicles and argument than anywhere else in Yellowstone. There's no where to park, there is no where to turn around, there's no where to even drive though. There's no organization and regulations. Cars parked on curve causing everything grid lock. Unlike some of the national park. Like Zion national park (small ),Rocky mountain national park (big ),their shuttle service and over flow parking regular does wonderful job. No wonder Yellowstone got so many angry drivers and more cars run into trees and crash into each other than anywhere else we see. Do something!!!! View is 100 stars!! Parking lot is Zero star!
their park ranger never come around here. They don't do anything about this place. They just let you guys kill each other here...
ย ย ย Read moreI am surprised people comment here about the grand prismatic spring. This parking lot was the worst managed within the whole Yellowstone National Park area. Considering its fame (and we were there during Covid summer, supposedly less populated), this little park space was completely full. What's more is there were designated places for RVs and Busses and exclusively all were taken by cars/trucks and there was noone to enforce the rules. While the cars were parked everywhere along the main road outside the parking spot, there is no place for RVs,trailers to park. Even nearby picnic area (whiskey flats) has sign saying no busses, trailers and RVs. Make sure you go prepared for this. Otherwise, of course the basin is spectacular but this particular area is not managed well...
ย ย ย Read moreParking tips. It's not as bad as you think (went twice on Saturday in July at 12pm and 3pm). If you want to enter carpark, enter from north as turning left is difficult across traffic with noone letting you in. You'll wait about 20-30 mins but there are people constantly leaving. Cars tend to wait at the entrance until someone leaves so it backs up and there are spaces noone sees. RV/bus spaces too but noone cares if used by cars. Didn't see anyone saving spaces. The alternative is there is parking on the street immediately north and about 50m south of the turn off where there were always spaces the 6 times we drove through. It's a short and not steep walk to get to the boards and actually faster than waiting for...
