Was transported by ambulance in crucial abdominal pain , upon arrival in their emergency room the entire experience could not have been handled any better in my honest opinion... The Dr. did not hesitate to administer pain meds as my discomfort was obvious and apparent..( regardless of my history) I was treated with respect and dignity.... after maybe less than an hour was taken for a cat scan and a half hour later I had a surgeon by my bedside explaining everything in detail and even basically demanding my surgery take precident over a non life threatening procedure,as to assure she did everything in her power to ensure the best outcome possible during my Time -critical procedure ( which mind you had to do with restoring blood circulation back to my twisted intestine in hopes of saving as much damage as possible) before administering anesthesia was informed I may be losing some intestine ( which was scary) but shown the utmost compassion from the surgeon herself, that made me as reassured as possible... Dr.Voiculescu ,I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did that day!!!! I'd also like to testify that I didn't have to lose any intestines and had the best possible outcome, considering...
Read moreWe did not have a good experience and would not pick this hospital again. The ER phase was alright. We waited a long time but received the help we needed. The visitor’s bathroom was filthy with blood all over the floor. But the doctors were helpful and the nurses were alright. Our worst phase came when my husband was moved to the third floor. I can’t even begin to describe our experience there. None of the nurses were engaging or kind. They just did their jobs. My husband needed some friendliness and reassuring. None came but he was looked after physically. Other issues happened too long and bothersome to describe but an attending physician ended up apologizing for all the lack of communication and for the mis-communication. At discharge nobody came exc wheelchair transport and we were not able to say a goodbye to anyone nor did any staff say a word to us. They were all MIA. May be just super busy. We were just shocked at the whole experience. The ONLY thing that was a pleasant surprise was a pastor over the intercom sharing a kind prayer for patients, family, and staff. That did us good and happened...
Read moreMother went to ER and then a 3-day stay for heart issues. A few of the nurses were very good. But a few were just plain bad, nasty, inattentive. And the so-called coordinator was totally useless. The biggest problem is the total lack of transparency and documentation, even after repeatedly requesting they put her on MyChart. Never provided discharge papers or anything. Went to SNF for a few days and then had to go back to the ER, this time at Fairview, for the same thing. But of course we have no clue what was actually done at St John. Btw, she has serious dementia, hearing loss and can barely communicate. So it's kind of important the family be informed and everything documented. We will never go back to St John after...
