I was seen at this location 2 days in a row. I ended up being diagnosed with pneumonia. Every doctor and nurse that I came into contact with definitely made me feel comfortable, I wish I could remember names but I was really out of it the only name I remember was April. My problem came maybe a day later I realized I was having a reaction to maybe the meds or something I came into contact with at the E.R. I called to see if I could speak with one of the Doctors who saw me just to get a quick understanding of things. Denise "the secretary" wasn't pleased at all about it. She told me I needed to follow up with my doctor among other things in a non caring manor. Because of the pneumonia I had no fight in me so I let it go. Meanwhile I'm home barely surviving not to mention having and reaction to the meds. I tried calling again the next day or the day after I believe and I got nasty Denise again. First I asked if I could talk to anyone else besides her, she said NO I'm the only secretary that works here. I explained to her why it was so important and urgent for me to speak with a someone that saw me there (reaction to meds) she didn't care she told me that a patient wasn't allowed to speak to the doctors they are to follow up with their own doctor or one that was recommended. I'm literally begging the lady and crying telling her what the problem is and she has no care. She was just vile, cold and inhumane! Finally I asked to speak to a supervisor, of her comes more nasty. She kept telling me she was in a meeting as if she didn't have a direct line for me to at least leave her a voicemail. Finally Denise sent me through to the supervisor Melissa. I left a message for her still haven't heard anything. Still home with pneumonia not knowing what this medication is doing to my body while Denise sits at a desk acting like God dictating things are above her pay grate. I just wanted to get it out there how a "secretary" someone that sits at a desk and answers phones has no regard for a patient. They say you can hear a smile, you can also hear I DONT CARE. Having pneumonia you can't just move around up and go you need rest. She has stressed me so badly with this it's unbelievable. I really hope her supervisor sees this and has a conversation with her. I can only imagine the experience of others dealing with the secretary Denise. She didn't even say hope you feel better. Such a nasty lady. I want to be clear again I had no problems with any of the actual caregivers, Unfortunately, The highlight of my experience has come down to The nastiness of Denise the secretary.
I've already reached out to whatever supervisor (Melissa) that was supposedly on the shift that day and have not gotten a response. SO no I will not reach out to patient advocacy, someone should be...
Read moreThey lost my husband. We waited for hours for my husband to get seen for a pain in his side that’s been getting worse then they put him in a hall bed. Since I had our 10 month old with us in his stroller we couldn’t stay in the back with him. The whole time we didn’t get updates on his conditions or anything and since his phone died he couldn’t tell me himself. We got there around 7pm and the baby and I didn’t leave until 1am because he refused to go to sleep. Before we left I made sure the hospital had my phone number and that they were gonna let him borrow a phone charger so he can get in contact with me after we left. Once I got home and got the baby to sleep I got a text that my husband was being discharged. I called the hospital and they said to wait so I can talk to his nurse but I was left on hold. When I hung up and called back they said he had already been discharged. Mind you, his phone is dead and I have his car… he ended up trying to walk home. Turns out nobody offered him the charger and they never made sure he actually had a ride (I even told them that I’m taking the car we all drove in back home.) He started walking home at 2 in the morning in the pitch black by himself. He could’ve collapsed after having all that pain, he could’ve been attacked by one of the many coyotes that he saw on his way home, he could’ve gotten robbed. All in all they just said he was stressed and should rest. If I could give 0/5...
Read moreThis place should be shut down. Nurses are the worst I have ever come across. The absolute worst. A family member was sent here by their doctor because they were unsafe to be at home. They asked the family member how they felt and the family member said ok. Within a half hour we received a call that they were fine and being discharged. We argued and they agreed to look further into it. A couple hours later family member was discharged because they were “fine”. Same family member is emaciated too. But they are fine. I picked up family member and they wheeled them to the car. They then said that the patient “can’t stand on his own” and I need to help. But you said they are fine!!!!! If you truly and deeply hate someone, send to this dump. If you care about someone absolutely go somewhere, anywhere else. I use UH and am so disappointed that they would allow this ER to exist and be run like this. We’re making a lot of calls to UH, the state, whomever we can talk to about this dump. I’m making it my mission in life to have it 1) shut down or 2) every nurse and doctor there replaced. What they did is criminal.
Update: that same night the patient fell on his floor and was unable to get up. He was taken to a different er where he was admitted. The doctors at the other hospital stated that what St. John did was negligent and he should never have...
