I found Made in Madeira on Craigslist while looking for used furniture. I had been hunting for someone who could build a 7-8’ round dining table for our rustic mountain home and as soon as I saw their work, I knew had found the artisans I had been searching for! We have a large family and often engage in hospitality and I wanted a large table for our 16’ stone turret dining room. Mario was attentive and eager to create what I was wanting, even though it would be massive. He was helpful and patient in sending me various renderings of the tabletop and base, making small adjustments, and working with me through the details of the design until it was just right. The project took a bit longer than expected but Mario communicated well, giving us updates and details on delays. He helped facilitate a moving company to deliver the table to our home. This was honestly the worst customer experience I have ever had with a company. Mario says the right things and honestly is probably trying to get it right, but he just isn’t capable. We ordered a large dining table, two coffee tables, 3 side tables and a elevated dog food table and every single one of them was screwed up significantly. The coffee tables are different colors, the dining table has the wrong color resin, the hole for the dog bowl is too large, (even though we gave him a bowl to use as a template, which we never received back), and the side tables are all 2” taller than we agreed. Oh, and plus, he took everything back and tried to fix it multiple times. In all, everything is still screwed up but I just couldn’t deal with the horrible communication and slow timeline. No exaggeration, we got all the screwed up tables back 4 months later than we were initially promised. I don’t want to hurt Mario’s business, but you should know how...
