After picking my dog up several weeks ago, it was acting different. I attributed this to a trauma suffered while at the groomer. I brought her in to a cut, and when I got the dog back, it was shaved down and everything...the belly too much so. The belly was so raw that it looked like it was burned and oozing. I tried to talk to them about being too rough with her, and they told me that they did no such thing and were extremely rude and offensive about the whole situation. They also said (even when I called earlier today) that they did not have another dog in that day that was similar to mine. After several trips to the vet, and the dog still not acting quite normal, which can happen after a trauma like that, I finally had the dog's chip scanned. As it turns out, they lied, and they did have another dog in that day. Another dog that is the same height, weight, color, breed, etc. So similar that the dogs owner didn't realize it either. They did not return my dog to me... they gave me the WRONG DOG! That's right...the wrong one. And the other dogs owner had called complaining that they did something to their dog too. Obviously the dog that they gave me had suffered a trauma with the burned belly, and if mine had not been traumatized by the actual grooming, she is definitely traumatized from being given to the wrong person. How does this happen? I am reporting them to animal control, police, dept of agriculture, and department of professional regulations. This is not acceptable by any means, and the fact that they were rude, accusatory, and offensive from the first time I called about it the day that I picked the dog up, their behavior and treatment of the situation made things worse. I will be pursing legal action against them for this extreme mess up and vet bills that I have endured due to them being unable to satisfactorily operate a business.
I sincerely hope that the authorities shut down the...
Read moreWe have been taking our Husky to The Barking Lot for about 9 months now and couldn’t be happier we found them. Especially thanks to our dog’s favorite ever groomer, Jeannette! Kodiak has a lot of anxiety and plenty of sass so it definitely helps to have found a husky pro. We had trouble with Kodiak at his previous groomer to where they did not allow him to come back which worked out for the best. I reached out to my towns social media group for advice and Jeannette reached out to me and took the time to introduce her work and came recommended by many others with huskies. Now, as you can tell from the picture evidence. Kodiak is so grateful to have found Jeannette! She helps to get him in for early appointments so he is not overwhelmed by other dogs. Kodiak always looks gorgeous and she never misses a spot. She even helped Kodiak out in a grooming emergency and put in extra hours just to help save my boys coat from matted sticky burrs! Kodiak has also seen Anna and she did a wonderful job as well. All of the staff at The Barking Lot has been very kind and the shop is always clean and organized. Highly recommend taking your dog here for a great experience and a happy...
Read moreI took both of my dogs, one who is 6 years old and the other who is a 16 week old puppy. The groomer said our older dog was an angel and said the puppy “needs some work.” The lack of empathy was alarming, otherwise the other staff was kind. Once we got into the car my boyfriend noticed blood. She has 2 wicks that were exposed and it got all over me and my car. When I called the groomer, she said it must’ve been the dogs fault. I understand puppies can be difficult and our puppy isn’t fond of strangers, but the lack of empathy until I sounded frustrated on the phone is very disappointing. Our older dogs muzzle was uneven and they cut his tail when we asked them to not do so. We are now noticing small cuts on his skin. Our puppy also has two deep mats on her muzzle which I may have missed on day to day, but she’s never had issues with matting so far and we brush every other night. It took some time, but I got them out. I also had to trim one of her ears because they were very uneven. When I first called they told me the puppy cut would be $45-50 and I was charged $71. To say the least, we will not be...
