Activitea Coffee — Restaurant in Wheaton

I've gotten coffee and pastries here a few times. I can't help but get the caramel vanilla iced latte every time because it is PERFECT. It tastes like a grown up version of the McDonald's caramel frappe. Very well balanced with a lovely rich (not bitter) espresso flavor under creamy caramel foam. I did buy a few drinks for friends and they liked them too. One tried the salted cold brew and his eyes almost bugged out of his head. 😂 He said that one was really well balanced too. The iced drinks look beautiful with layers of coffee and cream. I've also had the delight of trying a couple pastries. The tiramisu croissant was very good and buttery, but the cream filling could use a tad more sugar. But the coffee hit in that is something! I got the cherry cream cheese danish today and it was one of the best pastries I've had. Someone knows their flavors there. It's also so refreshing to spend $5 on a coffee drink these days! Sad, but true.

I've stopped in multiple times, sitting downstairs as well as upstairs as I enjoyed sampling their unique and flavorful hot teas. Their menu offers a variety of hot and cold coffees and teas as well as delicious pastries, desserts, and sandwiches. Everything is made to order, so tell the staff what you like and they'll make it so! The owners and staff are delightful--so friendly and personable. It is a great place to study, catch up with friends, or get some work done. It also works as a place to "get away" and relax in a welcoming environment. The food offerings include gluten free and vegetarian options--there truly is something for EVERYONE. The drive-thru is a bonus as is the ample free parking. My spouse and I had an hour to kill in Wheaton before an appointment so we swung by Activitea and we're so glad we did. A friendly barista recommended lavender lattes (photo). Delicious, light, and fragrant, I love that these environmentally-friendly, non-wasteful, cozy ceramic mugs are available upon request. Activitea has ten times the unique, local personality than bland global chains that treat you like a number. The inviting atmosphere is the kind of place you want to linger, breathe deep, and chill.
